Wow, I'm literally sitting in my office up here in northern VA minding my own business, and 3 guys just walked in and ragged me for 10 minutes about Garcia getting taken out by the ref last year against LSU. Just out of the blue. One of the guys is the president of the DC area LSU alumni chapter so we get into it every now and then, but this was COMPLETELY random.

i dont understand how people can give anyone crap about the hit. blindside anyone and they are going to be stuned. garcia had no idea to expect a 12th defender and to be prepared for something like that. its really time for people to let it go.....

Refs aren't supposed to make tackles. It was plain to me that the ref initiated contact that otherwise would not have occurred. Not sure how anybody can give you a hard time about that. The ref should have been suspended.

I still can't believe the ref wasn't suspended. It was obvious to anyone who was watching that the ref initiated the contact.

Hmm, I remember that crap. Ask those guys if they could take a blind side hit from Garcia? Yeah, that'll shut them up.

In the video, the REF watches him, see's him run to the right and follows him. Gives a forearm to SG, and LSU completes the tackle. BS!!

Yeah I've heard that tire excuse that the ref was just "trying to protect himself", but he began stepping into the tackle and bringing his arms up when Garcia was a good 2-3 yards away. The lil' prick did it on purpose.

The most annoying part is that is nothing to rag about. Rag about our history of mediocrity or something else that at least carries some weight. The ref's ambush is not "rag" material...at all.

I just rewatched it for the first time since last season. How that was not investigated is beyond me. You just cannot look at that and say that it wasn't intentional...... You cant.

I'm really glad you guys feel the same way as I do about this. Their main point was "how on earth can a 60-year old ref knock over our 6'2" 220lb with just a little push?" and no matter how many times I pointed out that if I decked one of THEM while they weren't looking they'd go flying too, they just kept at it. I really hope LSU chokes this season.

He would have been if it had happened to Tebow.

I watched the video-- ref clearly ran up and bumped garcia's right shoulder.

and USC fans would have given Clemson or UT or UF or UGA or LSU fans hell if it had happened to their QB its just one of those things where you just have to say "dang, Carolina looked stupid there" and laugh.

Yeah like said before he was just blindsided. The same thing happend to Lebron James and the ref actually got up before him. But that doesn't mean that ref is stronger or more athletic than Lebron James. Though I did find it strange when they said that ref was a former LB for UK and Garcia led us to victory over UK the week before... but they seemed to have made a make-up call later in the drive during Mike Davis' TD run.

And everyone seems to forget that Garcia got the last laugh by nearly taking that same refs head off vs UT during his TD throw to Mike Davis. As can be seen here..

That is so obvious! thanks for the veiw, and although I really want this to go away, I wish this would've been investigated by a panel that is objective and neutral. I think the outcome would have been quite different.
