I mean obviously he got knocked out the game in the 2nd quarter, but has anyone heard how serious the injury is?

They're waiting on an MRI, but they already said they're giving everyone a shot at QB this week in practice. He'll be out for weeks.

It's a pretty serious knee injury I believe. Kentucky should just keep Randall Cobb at QB and run the Wildcat formation all game in the next games they play. It was crazily effective against our defense, and I seriously thought we were going to lose this game..

also all the students that booed him when he was being carted off the field should be ashamed of themselves. They are an embarrassment to this university.
I'm glad school employees had the good sense to drown them out with music, but it was a sizable portion of students in the north endzone who were booing. Completely classless.

On the kentucky boards they were saying he is out for the year. Most likley it will be carreer ending, Hartline just isnt that great they will find somebody before he gets back. Hate it to go down like that for anyone, I hope he can make it back

what really sucks for him is that it happened on a play that should have been stopped because of the delay of game, but the refs were so incompetent last night that they let the play finish before they said anything.

He was playing well yesterday too. I hate it for the guy.
And don't let Cobb running the wild cat fool you. Our guys were gassed and just completely unprepared for it when UK pulled it out. Another drive and I think they would have shut it down

Excellent observation, the play was dead.

That's the second time we've ended a key players year for kentucky like that wide receiver last year (If Hartline is actually out for the year). Hate to see things like that happen no matter what team they play for

i just wanted to say i was in the north endzone right between the goalposts and didnt hear any booing. there probably was though, some people are like that. everyone around me stood and clapped though.

I hope I'm wrong, but the way that knee buckled, it would be a classic candidate for a torn ACL. Like I say, I hope I'm wrong.
The replays made me wince. Having had a knee injury that was similar, I can only imagine how much pain the poor kid had to endure.
It would be great if it turns out to be a sprain and they just need to drain the knee.

Hate it for the guy, he was having his best game of the year.
On another note, I think its gotta be Cobb starting at QB, with a lot of zone read stuff. Just make the Wildcat their permanent package. That guy is scary with the ball in his hands, another Randell El.

Give a defense a week to practice for it and...no.

Looked like classic MCL & LCLtears bc the knee joint itself twisted, which is NOT supposed to happen...ACL MAY have torn but didn't look to be hyperextensive which predominantly causes ACL tears...ACL is possible, but looked like more externalligament damage to me...the fact that he could bend his knee when trying t hobble off leads me to believe its not ACL...I could still be wrong.

Kentucky reports on their boards indicated that it is at least a MCL tear. They're waiting to see on the tests if there is a ACL injury as well. Not good either way.Hope he has a speedy recovery under the circumstances.

I watched the play on replay today when I got back from the game and it appeared to me that the direction of the hit makes it most likely to be an MCL injury and not an ACL injury.
And just for clarity, a "sprain" IS a torn ligament. The differences in sprains are in severity from a few torn fibers(what lay people call stretched) to complete transection of the ligament requiring reconstruction.
Also in general, MCL repairs are easier to come back from than ACL's.
respectfully submitted,

He is most likely out for the season with MCL tear per this article. (http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/12352533)
