AWESOME CLIP! I was at that game and remember that kick vividly. I was 15 years old and said to my Mom (sitting next to me at the game) before the snap "If he's ever going to kick a good one, this is the time to do it". That ball just sailed through the air over the Clemson player's head and rolled down to the one-yard line!! Thank you so much for the memory!!!

That's actually the first Carolina/Klimpsin game I ever listened to. I was 7 yrs old and remember that Klimpsin drove it the length of the field and nearly scored. I was so nervous. We won 13-9, right?

That's right. CU made it down to about our 10-15 yard line and their QB (Steve Fuller, I believe) overthrew his receiver in the end zone on 4th down. Final score was 13-9. I must have jumped 20 feet in the air when that 4th down pass sailed over the receiver's hands.

The 1979 game was broadcast on ESPN on a delayed basis. I've been trying to get my hands on a copy of a tape of this game for years, but haven't been successful. Who out there knows-somebody-who-knows-somebody at ESPN? I've also suggested through their web site that ESPN broadcast the game on ESPN Classics during their Rivalry Week near the end of the season. No luck there either.

I've often wondered if there would be any way to get the video that plays on the screen when 2001 plays? That would be really cool, especially the one where Big Boo, Sterling, Wadiak, etc were shown. But I've never seen or heard of anyone that has it.

Also, if anyone out there managed to capture ESPN's version of our entrance on Thursday night, that would be a gem also.

It was last year against UGA and it wasn't Lou that did that. It was a misunderstanding between the cameraman and the players. He signaled to them to let them know they were on the air and some of them mistook that for 'run now'.
