in Charleston. Tomorrow's the day. Anybody else doing it? I'll be there.

My goals are pretty simple, just run the whole thing without dying. :woo:

I will be there. My goals are basically in line with yours. I want to run the whole thing... hopefully not to far from the one hour mark.

Not sure if you are aware of this, but to pick up your runners pack you have to go through the Expo this year, so it takes a little longer.

Also, here is a column from the P&C yesterday from the Bryce is Write called "Bridge Run Rules"

"If you've never run in the Cooper River Bridge Run before (or have and finally came to your senses and stopped doing it so you could sleep in), here are my must follow rules for all would-be contestants. For instance, you should NOT be allowed to run the bridge run if you ...

... Lie about how fast you are.
That's right, I'm talking to YOU. The person who, when the entry form asks, "What time do you plan on finishing the race?" checks the "Under 30 minutes" box, when you really should be going with, "Hopefully, on the same day."

... Wear a costume.
A big wig. A wedding dress. Hospital scrubs. It doesn't matter. You look like an idiot. Seriously. Your mom would even say so.
Try a T-shirt and a pair of shorts next time. It's a race, not an off-Broadway production of "South Pacific."
EXCEPTION: If you're raising money for charity, knock yourself out. (Or if you're really hot.)
BONUS: If that charity happens to be the Foundation for the Prevention of Idiots Dressing up During the Bridge Run, you will be granted two 5-minute rest breaks.

Haha,

I made sure to be honest about my running skills when I filled out the form, and I'm definitely NOT wearing a costume. It's generally already hot enough.

And a friend of mine in Charleston is picking up my packet.

Everybody make sure to wear good running shoes.

I did 1 hr and 11 min. Not bad for not training at all. I ran the whole thing, though. I didn't stop once. I'll break an hour next year. I'll actually train for it.

Thanks. It was very rewarding to just finish it without walking. I wasn't concerned about my time this year since it was my first time doing it. Next year, I plan on training a lot more for it and my goal is under 55 min. I'm not going to just "wing it" like I did this time, haha.

Congrats to all who ran...you did something most have no desire to even try.

I am running in the 'Flying Pirate 1/2 Marathon' here on the OBX in three weeks and I am NNNOOOTTT ready to run 13.1 miles. Have been blowing off training for weeks now. Oh well...at about mile 8 all the hell I deserve will come raining down on me and my lazy tail in what can only be discribed as 'payback'...I'll make it but it is not going to be pretty...or pain free.

But as they say 'Pain is weakness leaving the body' and I'm looking forward to really dumping some 'weakness' along the road this time around...

I love running, it's very rewarding. But it's something that is very easy to drop if you don't keep up with it. I ran Cross Country for 4 years in High School, and stopped once I got to my "College Years." I'm glad I've started back and plan on sticking with it.

I use www.mapmyrun.com (http://www.mapmyrun.com). It is a pretty good site (would be better if there were not soo many ads) but it is free and you can track your progress, and map runs to see how far you run, save them, so you dont have to keep mapping. You can also search to see if anyone posted runs that are near you. That site alone keeps me going. I like to see how I do. It was depressing/motivating to look at last week, when I started back in, after the 5 feet of snow we got all winter...and see how little I did in February and March.
