Punt returns

I was stuck at work, so luckily I got to miss the game, but from the radio broadcast, it sounded like Gilmore was having some serious issues with punt returns. I know we haven't had a problem here in the last few games till now, but why give our corners extra work when they are having a hard enough job on defense. A couple of those drops and returns really hurt tonight...nothing went right.

Stephon had a bad game defensively tonight (in my opinion due to our scheme) and I think he was trying to compensate for it by trying to do to much on certain plays and that is what led to our problems in the return game.


our return game sucks...plain and simple. Culliver is fast but cant make cuts quick enough to break one, Im not sure Sherman could run through a paper bag, I have no clue why we never tried Jarvis Giles (before he decided to transfer) or haven't tried Ace Sanders back there but something needs to be done about it. Swearenger had a pretty decent night returning kickoffs though.

This game was not up to the level of play I expect from Stephon. He had his worst game as a Gamecock. I was totally shocked how he handled punts tonight. I just don't expect him to make basically bonehead plays which you could call them tonight.

His fumbled punt led to 3 points and what was the difference in the score...3 points.

Ace has been working second team Punt returns. After Stephon's fumble and backwards return I wouldn't be surprised to see him getting to field a few.

I hope so...not a knock on Stephon he is a hell of a player...but when hes off...give someone else a chance
