hey guys I am trying to find a way to put a flagpole in the back of my truck. I do not want it to be permanent, I just want it to fly a 3x5 flag to Columbia on Saturdays any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated thanx.

Mount a flag pole holder onto something heavy, peice of lead, perhaps a cinderblock, and just sit it in bed maybe. Or permanently mount the holder and don't leave the flag in all the time.

http://www.collegegear.com/sf/stores/1457/p-127561.shtml hitch flagpole

There are fender mounts for flags but they say you should exceed 15mph while using one.

I suppose you could mount the flag to something heavy and place it inside your passenger floorboard and shoot the flag out the window kind of caddy corner, though I'm not so sure this wouldn't anger local law enforcement.

take a rod holder like a fishing rod holder and mount it to the tool box, right in the center then you can just put the flag pole in the rod holder..

In a ful size truck?
I drive a 99 S-10 and fabbed up a little framework to slide into my bed for Border Bash every year w/ a UGA SUCKS flag hehehe

You'll need
2-6ft 2x4's

#1 Measure the EXACT distance from the inside wall of the bed that is against the cab.

#2 Measuret the EXACT distance from the inside side wall to side wall (between cab and fender well) and cut the 2x4 accordingly then slide it horizontally into the bed up aginst the cab side of the fender flare

#3 Subtract 2 inches from #1 and cut 2 pieces this length...wedge perpendicularly between 1st board and cabin side bed wall

on the board running horizontally attach flag holder...

Insert flag and enjoy

If you are in Columbia, Columbia Flag and Banner on Huger Street has flag poles and the bases that go under a tire on your vehicle. We have been flying one for the last 3 years.

Extend the flag pole out the sliding rear glass with the base resting in floor board. It will not be straight up, but let's say more aerodynamic in that 45 degree angle. You don't have to worry alot about stop lights or low hanging wires that way....LOL:rotfl:
