Let's get some defense on that team, how about
#27 Brad Edwards
#98 Kevin Hendrix
#45 James Seawright
#97 Ricky Hagood
#24 Bobby Bryant
#25 Rick Sanford
#11 Rashad Faison
And we must give #31 to DeBoer.
I might also pick Ira Hillary to wear #1, I think AW was a great player, but under utilized as a Gamecock by the Clemsux Doughboy.

The one thing that propels Scott over Troy is that he stayed all 4 years to play. If Troy would have stayed he would have been it by a long shot. But Scott did much more, including leaping over Thornton in '01 at UGA to put us ahead.

Sorry man....#1 goes to either Ira Hillary or Ryan Bethea
Ryan Bethea was and is the best player to ever wear the #1. In fact, if Ryan had not made soooo many bad decisions as a teenager while at USC we would be talking about him as one of the greatest of all times regardless of number.
I know potential can sometimes be a dirty word when speaking about athletes but Ryan's was limitless.

#43 - Dickie Harris. All American. Led the nation in return yards one year, ran punts and KO's for TD's. One of the only people I ever watched who everyone thought would take it the whole way each time the touched the ball.
Heck of a DB, too, as few threw in his area.

I don't think the thread is about potential, but rather about what they ACTUALLY did. He was not the greatest to wear #1 based on his total production.
