View Full Version : Do you guys ever wear jerseys

Just curious. I know that some guys think that jerseys (replica, authentic, throwbacks, etc.) are only for little kids and that they look kinda lame on grown men. Unfortunately, I also know a number of women who kinda roll their eyes at men who wear jerseys. So, do you wear jerseys or do you think that us old guys (over the age of 30) should just rock the team sweatshirt, polo, t-shirt, etc. and leave the "jersey-wearing" to the little kids?

IF you are over 30 and you do rock the jersey from time to time, what is your offical "jersey policy?" Do you only wear it IF you attend a game in-person? Or do only if you are at a sports bar to watch a game, or at a game watch party? Or do you also wear it to go out shopping, to the mall, out to dinner, etc.?

I personally feel that once you are out of college no more jersey. Unless it's because you are actually on the team.

They are fine on Game Day. Should not be worn on other days or out of season.

I'm 19. And I think it looks a little stupid when people wear them. I collect game worn and old jerseys tho. Never wear them.

Do what you want and don't worry what others think. I don't give a rats behind what you wear, that's up to you.

I'm in my senior year and I rock my black #52 Jasper Brinkley jersey in the student section at every home game.

I will continue to do so after I graduate. Wear what you want, don't let the way people see you affect how you express your fanhood.

It's weird for a college student to wear a present day player's jersey, mainly because you see them on a regular basis if you're on campus.

If I feel like wearing a jersey, then Im going to f*ck&ng wear a jersey. I dont give two shits about what some other dude thinks about the way I look. Ill wear that jersey, and then when I get home Ill get a girl to wear my old highschool jersey around the house with no panties. Who gives two F&cks about what another man is wearing? Good lord u guys.

Same thing I said a while back. Be prepared for the whirlwind. I just can't understand why men would care what another man wears. As long as your junk is covered, I couldnt care less.

I have a few Carolina football jerseys that I will wear on occasion. My wife doesn't mind them and if you have a problem with them well you can bow down, toss my salad and peel my potatoes.

I used to but don't anymore. Honestly the reason I don't wear them anymore is for comfort reasons. It's more comfortable to wear a t shirt than a t shirt and a jersey when it feels like 200 degrees outside. I don't think it matters how old you are. If you want to wear something ... wear it (unless we're talking about those tacky ass kackie pants with (insert team name) logo all over them)

Mods are gonna have to open a fashion expressions forum to fit all these dang jersey wearing debates. Whining about someone wearing their fav team/player's jersey gets a Cris Carter sized "Come on, man".

I'm a grown ass man....off course I don't wear a jersey. My personal belief is that the cutoff for male jersey wearing is somewhere around the 10th/11th grade. For women, jerseys are fine as long as you're not vastly overweight.

If you want to wear something ... wear it (unless we're talking about those tacky ass kackie pants with (insert team name) logo all over them) Wear them once and you'll never wear anything else to a game. Promise.

Personally, I think it looks really dumb for someone over 15 to wear one. By then it looks like you're trying to pretend you're on the team or something instead of looking up to someone like kids do. Jersey t-shirts, on the other hand, look just fine and I own a few myself.

But really, who gives a shit what other people think. I wear a bow tie to every game and get made fun of by guys all day, but I don't give a shit. Wearing one is what got my current girlfriend's attention. Wearing a bow tie expresses an aggressive lack of concern of what others think and I believe a jersey does the same. Rock it if you want.

There was a thread about three months ago on rules for wearing jerseys and its hilarious yet very reasonable. I'm at work on a cell phone and searches never want to work so if anyone would like to post the thread link thatd be awesome.

personally i think its odd. i wouldnt wear one, but im not going to judge someone who does. i do laugh every now and then when i see someone rocking a jersey from like ten years ago from a player that wasnt very good.

Firmly believe that anyone out of high school should never put a jersey on. If you want to be perceived as a grown man and taken seriously then dress like one. If you are over thirty, you should wear polo shirts on game day unless you are at home, then t shirts are acceptable.

If I see an adult wearing a jersey I either think depending on the location/general appearance: too stupid to know better, too poor to dress appropriately, or just a general d-bag.

Here is a picture of My Dad, little brother and Me from a game a few years ago. And then one from last year with my sister included. My Dad is now 61 and wears T Shirt to games all the time. I wear T shirts most of the time but sometimes will wear a polo if I feel like it. So by your assessment my dad and I are not grown men cause we wear T Shirts to games? Really? I promise you that 61 year old man is more of a man than you could ever be. Try not being some freaking judgmental based on someone's choice to wear a t shirt over a polo. Are you kidding me? Pathetic.

wear what you want. I personally don't own a jersey, but my sister does and she wears it every year when she goes to her 1 home football game (she is 23)

I'm almost 36 years old and I wear a jersey sometimes on gamedays. Other gamedays I don't. My husband is almost 36 and he usually wears a jersey on game days as well. I promise you he doesn't look like a douche/idiot/wannabe, etc when he wears it. In fact, I see a good bit of men wearing jerseys at the game; I don't understand what the big deal is that some grown men (and women) wear them. I think they look just fine.......jersey's don't come with an age limit!!
