Had one version of this where I had a teardrop coming out of the tiger's eye, but removed it here because it didn't look good with the Delta Dental ad

Tater (s) is the slang word Carolina fans use when they refer to Clemson fans or the Clemson Tigers themselves. Clemson is an Agricultural University. Part of the TATER name is taken from that.

The biggest reason is that their Boosters Club is called IPTAY. When it was originally founded (not sure of the year), it was a way to get a lot of people involved in the boosters club. Anyone could join by paying $20 dollars. the name IPTAY stands for I Pay Twenty A Year. A few years later that was uped to Thirty a year (the name still fits), but since, has grown to what most Boosters Clubs are now, with varying levels of support.
We used to refer to Clemson fans as "IPTAY'ers" Those who payed $20/ $30 to support the program. That evolved into IPTAY'ters and with them being the Ag School - - Taters was the word used most when refering to Clemson folk.
