So I have to commend everyone on their videos.
They seem very "custom" and well done which brings me to my question. What software / software packages is everyone using for this stuff?
I make various videos / DVD's but I use rather "bland" software which is fairly closed boxed. You cant just "do anything." I would like for my videos to look more professional / custom.
Any info is greatly appreciated.

If you have deep pockets, you can try Sony Vegas. It is very powerful and has a bit of a learning curve. I know thats what at least two video makers here use, and their videos are fantastic. There is also a DVD burning software that kinda goes "with" Vegas, called DVD Architect. It is also very nice.
If you want to try a video for free, then use the Windows Movie Maker that comes with any edition of Windows XP. You can find it in your start menu.
There may be some other alternatives to movie editing such as Adobe Premire, and Pinnacle Studios, but I've never used them. Try looking them up for review on cnet.com (www.cnet.com)
Also, another good resource for Sony Vegas is here. (www.jetdv.com)

You can use vegas for like, 30 days I think. Its worth a shot using it if you can figure out how to use it in enough time to make a video. :D

On Sony's website, you can get the $119 version of Vegas 7 which includes DVD burning support. But you have to be careful, the version that comes with it is "Vegas MOVIE STUDIO 7"
If I'm not mistaking, that only comes with 4 channels to edit with. Audio is one channel, video is another, so right off the bat you're using 2 channels. You've only got 2 left to mess with, so if you want to overlay game audio in the background, thats 3 channels. Any effects you want to add and BOOM, you've hit your max. As long as you dont use extremely complex effects and/or text affects, you should be able to do just fine with the 119 package.
The next step up from that package is 524! lol

I've started using Dreamworks Macromedia Flash but have far from mastered it.
Have any of you had any experience with it or opinions on it?

You can get 'em off of the video page, alot of folks do that. If you notice in their vids you'll see the cockytalk watermark in the bottom right hand corner

I'll usually encode the games to .wmv using movie maker or .avi using VirtualDub-1.6.17(both free) , keep the highlights i want to use in a seperate folder(with pics and music or whatever), then Divx or Xvid the games using AutoGK and convert to DVD.WMM works great if you set it to highest quality , i just don't like the cut features it has and don't use them.
