SpuR48 and I were talking about dvd players the other day and it turns out we have the same model.
Phillips makes a line of dvd players & dvd recorders that play Divx, xvid, mpg, wmv. Any format of movie you can get on the intenet, this thing will play! No more converting to dvd format. Just burn on a dvd or cd as data and these phillips boxes will play whatever you got. It's so convenient to be able to download a movie, burn it and pop it in your dvd player to watch on the big screen tv.
Anyway... just thought I'd mention it because I just saw the Phillips DVP642 player advertised for $39 in the Sunday paper. That's freakin dirt cheap. Can't remember whether it was Circuit City or Best Buy. The dvd recorder version was $139.
If you want the best dvd player that will play almost anything you can download without ever having to convert anything, this is the one to get!
