That's right, in a few short months, I'm going to become a father. So long to weekends in Columbia, hootin' it up in the fairgrounds, takin ceremonial swigs from a pint of Fighting Cock, ogling the hot cheerleaders going into the game...
(wiping tears)
Here's to hoping that those of you in the same boat, particularly from the upstate, fathers or not, would be into a get-together at one of the upstate sportsbar watering holes to take in some of the games. Oh, I'll be able to go to a game or two, but not week end week out like the old days.
Give me a shout. I will contact some of you when it gets closer to football season, I'm looking forward to meeting some of you so we can argue in person, bash clemson, catch a buzz, lol
later all, James

Congrats first of all.
If you are like me then staying home with your child will not be that big of a deal. It is the greatest thing that has happened to me. Trust me you will never love anything in this world like your child.

I thought that the thread was about a new Gamecock father, not about a funeral. WHAT GIVES ?

Congrats to all the new fathers ... but listen it's not all bad ... they have these things called babysitters ... find a good one and all your problems will be solved ... I'm a father of three boys and let me tell you ... you can't blow it out like you use to but you can still enjoy those tailgating weekends just the same ... you will enjoy it even more as they get older and include them in the tradition ... congrats again guys!!
