CockyTalk interviewed Steve Taneyhill today.

First off I would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to Coach Taneyhill and Chesterfield High School for being so gracious to CockyTalk for this interview. He was a joy to talk to and he's very happy at his current position as the head football coach of the Chesterfield Rams.

I would like to give a special thanks to Andy Locklair for interviewing Coach Taneyhill for CockyTalk. Andy does a local TV show called "RaceTalk" where he teams up with former Nascar driver Ron Barfield that airs on Fox before every Nascar Race. Andy has done many interviews and is very good at what he does.

Taneyhill talked about Gaines Adams before the draft. Rich Bisaccia was an ex-coach and recruited Taneyhill to USC. He is now in Tampa. I thought it was neat how Taneyhill talks about seeing him at the Pro day in Clemson and how it would be great if Adams got drafted by Tampa.

I was alittle suprised to hear the way he talked about Holtz. I know he was disappointed in the staff for overlooking Gaines, but I didn't think there was bad blood. IT was definitely a great interview, and hopefully the items going up for auction will help the school out.

Sounds like the Gaines Adams thing is part of his beef with Holtz. But maybe there is more. I get the impression that he is pretty tight with Brad Scott so maybe he's upset about the transition bewteen scott and Holtz. just speculation though.

I thought it was a great interview. Wow did Holtz every blow it hu? SOS said after the AU game that he was just one good pass rusher short.... makes you think hu? You know ST is just the kind of guy I think our program needs in 8 or so years. A young good quality coach with proven record and ties to the university like SOS had to UF. I think if he is successful for the next few years then when SOS decides to hang it up for good that ST should be given a look. He would be somewhere around 40 I think. Just a thought.

Good to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't like Lou Holtz.

I thought one of the most telling moments was when the interviewer asked him a word association.... "Lou Holtz" "No Comment." I never realized that Lou pissed off so many high school coaches in this state, let alone one of the greatest QBs we have ever had at USC. Overall, I was very impressed with him, he was humble, but you could still see that confidence underneath. He is a good ambassador for South Carolina, we would do well to encourage good relations with him. To miss on Gaines Adams, he was the pass rusher that we have been lacking since 2001.

I moved to Chesterfield 5 years ago. The football program was weak and the stands were basically empty. Tanneyhill has done wonders for the whole town. Friday nights rock around here at The House That Tanneyhill Built.
