Wow! May God continue to bless you all who have served, is serving and will serve in the future.

I think it would be a great idea to start a thread for those of you who have been there to display pictures and share your stories. That would take this Web site to another level. Heck, I'd love for us to adopt a unit or two and communicate with them on a daily basis.

Here's my 2 cents worth. Here's a video I found on YouTube that I thought was AWESOME!

Post it here until we get a separate thread started. Where exactly would we put the thread when we get it started? The Cockpit is the most visited section of the website, but this topic will not have much to do about football. Maybe we could be clever and call it something like "Gamecock Offensive in Iraq" or something.

Well, the flag in Camp AJ Kuwait is still there in the big chow hall. I see it every time I eat there. I stay up the road from AJ mostly, but go to AJ a good bit. A couple months ago we had a huge SC National Guard unit come thru. I watched a couple games with them before they left. Hopefully they will pass thru again.

I've been in Kuwait/Iraq since May, currently at LSA at ASAB in Kuwait. This was the first year in a decade that I did not attend at least one SC game in person. Luckily, Armed Forces Network or ESPN has broadcasted almost every game (I think I missed Citadel, Kentucky, and Tennessee). Just goes to show you how much national attention the program is getting (It helps that we remained ranked the whole season too!).

This was the first time in my life I was happy for NOON games! A noon game is an 8pm game here, so those 7pm ET kickoffs were brutal to stay up/wake up for - but I did!

GO Cocks! By the way, I should be back in the US near the end of January. Looking forward to the 2012 season, I will be back at Carolina for Grad School!!!!

Wow this thread is back from 2007 lol! I have been back to Iraq like 3 times since this. I forgot all about this thread. That's crazy. But yes we always watched the Cocks play on AFN over there. It was a beautiful thing to come in from patrol and go to the MWR to see Gamecock Football!:woo:

And I have no idea why I was typing in all caps, lol.
