JUCO DE Plans USC & CU Visits

By Phil Kornblut
Interest in DE Larry Ford (6-3 240) of Coffeyville JC, KS and Georgetown is increasing. He has received a written offer from Texas A&M to go along with his verbal offer from USC. And he feels Purdue is close to making him an offer. He is also hearing from Kansas State, LSU, Ohio State, Washington State, Miami, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Tennessee and others. Ford is out of school for summer break and will take two online courses while home. He also plans to visit USC and Clemson this summer. He is set to visit USC June 9th while he's waiting to talk again to his Clemson recruiter Chris Rumph to set a visit with the Tigers. Ford said he would like to make a commitment this summer, possibly in August. USC, Clemson and Purdue are his favorites right now.

After this past year's recruiting class I would think that the last position we would use a JUCO on would be DE. I wonder if we will be moving some to the OL.

On Recruiting
Published: June 9, 2007

DE Larry Ford (6-3 240) of Coffeyville JC, KS and Georgetown made an unofficial visit to USC Saturday and met with his recruiter Brad Lawing. "I liked the facilities, and the coaches were being straight forward," Ford said. "Coach Lawing wants to see me play a game first and then he'll decide if he'll offer. He wants me to send him film of my scrimmage from Coffeyville. He thinks I'm a good sam linebacker but he wants to see me with my hand down." Ford said Clemson wants him to visit next week and he'll try to make it there if he can get transportation. Ford said he has official offers from Texas A&M, Purdue, Kansas, Kansas State, Arkansas and Iowa State. He wants to make decision by the end of the summer

Ford has committed to West Virginia. I dont really like Juco's, but I think we could have found a spot for this guy.
