If you played football, what position would you want to play at the most? Most people tend to play at their favorite position on the video games. I personally like Defensive Tackle.

I played alot of corner back and flanker back in high school and in the USMC. My senior yr I missed one play the whole season, that was because of a broken shoulder pad strap. We won the east coast championship two yrs at Cherry Point. Man I loved catching the ball. I can only remember dropping 2 passes that I got a good hand on, one of those my safety hit me in the back going for the same INT. Too short though for big time ball and you know white men can't jump.

I played both sides of the line. Defensive end and offensive guard.

I played offensive line in H.S. I loved it. It was like being apart of a team within a team. There's nothing like blocking, and while you're blocking, hearing the crowd roar, only to break off from the defender to see the RB scampering down the field.

I was 5'5" , 200lbs. and played offensive guard. My first start was my junior year against Spartanburg and Anthony Simmons (Clemson, Seattle Seahawks). We lost and I didn't do all that great, but playing offensive line is an experience I'll never forget. They tried to put me on the d-line a couple of times and I hated it.

Played on the offensive line; loved being the pulling guard. Nothing like pulling down the line and seeing a DE or DB reach for the RB and bam / pow/ lights out.

A trap play was enough to give you a woody...

Get in the pile and grab the other color pants and twist / poke and talk trash.

We had a play called 44 C & G; where the TE and Tackle double team the D lineman. Man the smack I talked when I had to play tackle on that play. I still like guard better but the 44 C & G made up for the time at tackle.

Being 5"11 on a good day, and weighing about 175, Strong safety.
It is just something about being able to lay guys out going over the middle that just seems like something fun to do on a constant basis.

Running back/slot WR for offense...small (5'8" 155) but shifty with a burst. Don't run routes too well, so I'd have to just take passes in the flats, lol.

Defense is another story...I play DE in intramurals because the OL can't pancake you, hahaha. I'd probably just get stuck at CB because of my size, but I'm awful at tracking the ball in the air so I'd just get torched deep all game long.

So with defense ruled out, I'd go with a KR/PR on special teams.

I would be a punter, I did have decent hangtime on my punts. I could placekick too, but I was the old school straight on kicker. Sort of giving away my age, huh??? I remember playing wide reciever once during PE class in high school and went out for a bomb, got tripped up with my double coverage and fell. Either I landed on my right wrist wrong, or a db stepped on it but it came up bent at a weird angle. Ouch. That's why I want to be a punter now LOL!!!!

well considering I played OL in high school, usually guard, but I did play center and tackle some, I guess I would have to say OL. Being 6'4 and 250 is beautiful. I'd much rather have played DE or OLB on Defense, and TE on Offense, but I wasn't blessed with speed. Guess I was a decent blocker, I played at Union and we won 2 state titles and lost a 3rd in OT. Played a season at Offensive Tackle at Gardner-Webb before I wrecked my ankle and had to give it up.

in real life, i was the kicker for a year (soccer kid all day), but at heart, i would be a strong safety. my style in soccer was the same as a safety, i was big enough to play the safety spot (6'1" 200lbs) i just didn't have the speed, i would roam the field looking for someone to run over. i would love nothing more than hanging out in centerfield waiting for someone to light up.

on offense, i would probably play tackle, just because I like the idea of being able to hit someone on every single play. I'm always the skinniest kid who volunteers to play lineman anytime i play pick-up, thats just my make-up, football is about hitting, and i want to hit

I played most all positions at some point coming up, but finally settled in at TE and LB in high school.

Ideally, though, I would love to be a flexbone, wing-T type of fullback on offense. Love the idea of getting 20-30 carries between the tackles as the featured back in that offense.
On D, I would either like to be a SS or a 3-4 OLB.

4littlecocks

QB or OLB. I would light it up and pass for more than 400 yards a game. At OLB I would be a monster, 4 or 5 sacks a game...put me in coach!

Nothing wrong with a sweet dream every now and then.

Back in High School I had speed and was super quick. I got to top speed in two steps. I played halfback on offense, and free safety on defense. I got to play option QB once when our QB was hurt, and that was pretty fun ... only I was afraid to make the pitch. We could have scored more if I had pitched it to the back.

I would have to say RB is the best position. I think the thing that makes a good quick RB is fear, fear of being tacked. I didn't like anyone tackling me, and I could do the deadleg thing naturally and with abandon.

I wish I played football because I was usually one of the best in pick up games. My commitment to tennis didn't allow me to even though I like playing football more.

I'm fast at 6'1" and can jump really high so I was always a good receiver. I'm probably not strong and stocky enough to play RB. DB was always a good position for me as well.

I'm left handed with a pretty strong arm and mobile guy too so I think I would've worked out at QB. Sometimes I wish I stuck it out in baseball where I was a damn good little leaguer lol and sometimes I wish I played football. I'm probably the most naturally talented at basketball though if not baseball.

I played both ways in HS... TE and DE. We ran a toss sweep offense so I was very much a blocking TE. I think I had the ball thrown to me like twice ever. I always preferred ball hawking though and nothing made me feel better than to jack up a QB. I think I'd like to play just DE if I could do it again. Back when I was in playing shape I was 6'2" 245 lbs with a best 40 of 4.7.

I was a Basketball Point Guard throughout high school, so I could definitely see myself being a Slot WR. I was a tough guy for my size (5'9"), could run the routes on plays very well, and was very reliable at taking care of the ball and knowing what was going on around me. I'd compare myself to Kenny McKinley in a way. I don't have the end all top speed, but I am very, very quick footed and shifty. If I had a arm and was taller... QB may be a small possibility due to some slight similiarities between PG and QB, but I'm just not big enough and don't have the arm.

i played baseball in high school and college. i quit football after my mom died of cancer. she was just too much of a part of it for me to be able to handle playing still. i regret that to this day and still resent my father for letting me do it. when i played i played WR/TE and LB. i was always the runt but that is relative to my family. at 6'3" 228lbs and i am the smallest male in my family. in HS, my jr & sr years i ran a 4.5 40 and 6.6 60. i had more breakaway speed than quicks. our football coach tried more than once to get me to play WR for our team. i would practice with my baseball buds that played football a lot to stay in shape. i used to eat my buddies lunch running and receiving that got a full ride to Clemson to play. anyway, i often thought about what could have been if i played through HS. we got a lot of exposure and a bunch of guys i was in school with went and played d1 ball. they would always tell me i should play, i'd be pretty good. just couldn't bring myself to do it. i played RF in baseball mainly because the strength of my arm and my speed in the gaps and down the line. we had very strong baseball teams that won AL state tourneys four years in a row. i'd put our legion baseball squads up against a lot of colleges and we would have held our own.

anyway, that's all memories of days gone by. now, i am just a lucky old guy with a beautiful wife and 3 beautiful, healthy kids.

I would think my role model in this question might be Ike Crowfoot. You are on the football team, get to go to the parties with all the hot chicks. Being the holder for field goals you have a low risk of injury by all these fast three hundred pound guys. I know my limitations and I would have no business on the football field with any of these guys except holding for the FG kicker.
