In the SEC everybody we play away this year we play home and vice versa. The playing order remains the same.

the reason I was asking is that someone told me taht USC was playing Furman...why does USC not ever play Furman? They play SC State, Wofford, and the citadel?

We play Furman in 2011 and 2014. I believe 2014 will be the first time Furman has played both Carolina and Klempsun in the same year since the 1940s.
I think that's right. I remember making a note of that when looking at Klempsun's OOC schedule.

Im glad to see it. If we are going to play some smaller schools, might as well keep the $ instate.
I hope this trend/rotation continues ...

Miss You and AreKansas have been our permanents out of the West since 1992.
Is that changing for certain next year?

Is that changing for certain next year?I can't find it anywhere, but, I think Arkansas will be our only permanent West opponent.
I might be wrong on that, but I'm almost certain we pick Ole Miss up next year.

Miss St. use to be a permanent rival but the SEC started rotating that game. All schools had another rival that was rotated also that use to be permanent. The last time we played them on a permanent basis was 02 at the WB, we haven't played them since then, well at least until last year(06). 02 was the last year we had two permanent rivals, Ark. and Miss St. Since then it has just been Ark.
Im glad to see it. If we are going to play some smaller schools, might as well keep the $ instate.

that's why all the D2 schools are Wofford, SC State, Furman, Citadel etc etc ... no D2 school we play is out of state

I always thought that everybody in the east and west divisions had one member of their schedule from the opposite division who was permanent (e.g. USC=Arkansas, UT=Alabama, Florida=LSU, UGA=Auburn), and one who rotated home and home...

As cock4life stated, we only have one permanent from the west. used to be 2 but now they rotate that game. You never play the same 2 west opponents in consecutive years. we have lsu and miss st...next year lsu and miss...then miss and alabama...then alabama and auburn...etc. etc.

You are correct ...
There is a formula and they changed that formula a few years back ...
Now its something like: all east opponents, 1 permanent west opponent, 2 variable west opponents to be played H-H and to be switched out after the series in complete...
Ark is our permanent west opponent ... thats a given
We have played Ole Miss, Bama, Auburn, MSU, and LSU as our rotating west opp over the last few years ... they 'stagger' each series so that they overlap to mix it up
2002 - @ LSU, MSU
2003 - LSU, @ Ole Miss
2004 - @ Bama, Ole Miss
2005 - Bama, @ AU
2006 - @ MSU, AU
2007 - @ LSU, MSU

Actually they did away with that designation last year(August 3, 2006). The New designation is Football Bowl subdivision and Football championship subdivision.
They thought that the 1AA designation put that division in a bad light.
D2 schools are smaller schools or at least schools with less supoort for athletics and have their own championships as well.

Didn't know that...living overseas will do that to you! lol. I guess the name change didn't come into effect until Dec '06, though.
I knew about D2 championships. I assume D-III and the NAIA stille exist, or am living in a college sports blackhole?
