View Full Version : Coming Home!!!

The Wife and I are making the pilgrimage back to mecca, aka SC, during the holiday season. It'll be my first time back in the States, much less SC in a year-and-a-half, so I'm pumped. We're tenatively flying into GSP on 22 Nov and leaving again on 9 Dec. We'll be in Cola the first week and split between our respective in-laws the second week in the upstate. Anyways, I've got a couple questions...

1) Anybody know of any good concerts, events, etc. in Cola or G-Vegas during that time? I've checked websites for all the different venues (Colonial Center, Bi-Lo Center, Township, Peace Center, etc.) and not seen anything, yet. Don't even mention the Clemson football game because,

2) We'll be at Willy B. on Nov 24th!!! (The game's the main reason we're coming home...don't tell our folks). We don't have tix or delusions of finding any, but we will be tailgating at the fairgrounds in our former style all-day. To my knowledge, bpsixtysix is the only person on here that has ever tailgated with us, but trust me, its a good time. All C-Talkers are most welcome, or if y'all are planning something else for the big game, we may drop by your spot.

3) We're also going to the B-ball game 28 Nov against Campbell and keep in mind,

4) All plans are subject to change if we're playing for a certain football trophy in Atlanta.

Either way, it's still a little ways out, but I'm trying to lock-on our itinerary for the entire trip, so any input is appreciated. I'll bump this again as we get closer to H-hour.

Thanks, all.

Leave it to Morgan wanting to drink a few:lol:

Glad you guys are planning to come home. Maybe it will be an extended stay when we play in Atlanta for the SEC title game!

This is true and it was a good time (despite the weather). I was a little disappointed in the amount of lite beer present and the overall absence of binge-drinking that day, but, oh well. The best part for me was watching all the suburbanites present marvel at the hog bp was cooking.

Either way, you need to stop by and knock back a couple of RC colas with us.

Fear not, my asian amigo. We'll be back out here after those couple of weeks at home. Not making the move permanent until summer '08.

Maybe I should have titled this "Homecoming" instead of Coming Home? Either way, I'm just bumping this to remind some folks that we should get together whilst Gamecockhoney and I are back in SC. I still don't envision getting tix to the Clemson football game, but we're still going to tailgate our tails off! I think we'll have a pretty easy time getting tix for the Campbell b-ball game the next week.

Mods, can we move this to the Get Togethers forum???

Bro, you send send the AD and school Pres an email or maybe even a letter. You never know when you might get a free pair of tix or even an invitation to sit in one of their boxes. Trust me, it's happened before.

Tenatively 22 Nov - 9 Dec. We're still locking on our itineraries. Should be in Cola the first week, then the GSP area the last week or so. In all my anality (is that a word?) I've put together a day-by-day schedule on an excel spreadsheet.

Almost time!

I just looked back at my original post. I can't believe it was not that long ago, that I was alluding to us being in Hotlanta for the SEC champs game. No matter. This week is a season by itself. Everyone is welcome to come by our tailgate for a cool, refreshing, Blue Ribbon. Better yet, you can do your patriotic duty and bring a drink over to a returning serviceman! Our spot is easy to find. We're usually in the fairgrounds and have the USMC and Gadsden flags flying high.

Also, thanks to those (Dietz) who sent info about goings-on while we're home. I've got one more Q...

-I haven't been to a b-ball game since 2000 when I was a stud(ent). We're planning on going to the 28 Nov game against Campbell. Frankly it won't be a full-house, so how do I go about getting tix?

BTW...changed the name from D-way. Gaichon is Thai for "Fighting Cock" in case you were wondering.

Can at least one person give a heads-up on the b-ball tix? Thanks.

^^Thanks for the shout-out. I guess I spoke too soon about the flags, though. I can't find all parts to the flagpole set-up, so no flags waving in the sky this time.

Hopping on the bird in a few hours, then we're east bound and down.

Heading back across the pond Sunday. SC was as great as I remembered.

I realize this is not "Cocky Swap" or anything, but I would have figured at least one person could have given a heads-up about the b-ball tix. Between the time of my above reminder post and the game, this thread was viewed over 200 times.

Anyway, thankfully I realized how to just do it via gamecocksportsonline and pick-up at the will-call. Being out of the loop for so long, I didn't realize you could do that.

Thanks, again.
