Floyd Plans To Visit Around

By Phil Kornblut
Long time Tennessee commitment DB J.T. Floyd (6-0 185) of JL Mann is far from finished with the business of recruiting. Floyd calls his commitment to the Vols "soft." He has scheduled an official visit to Michigan for November 16th when the Wolverines host Ohio State. Floyd said he's very interested in Michigan. "They are near the top," he said. He also will set officials to Tennessee, Maryland and NC State. For his fifth visit he's looking at USC and North Carolina. "I hear from South Carolina every now and then," he said. Floyd's uncle Norman played defensive back for the Gamecocks. Another uncle, Mike Jones, is a CA Johnson product who played at NC State and in the NFL. Floyd has not made any unofficial visits this season but he might go to NC State this weekend. Floyd is having a solid year on the offense side with 27 catches for 400 yards. He's also averaging 30 yards per kickoff. Defensively, he's second on the team in tackles, and most passes are going to the other side of the field.

I go to school with him...
Hes an AWESOME defensive player...
some of the moves he makes are "reggie bush" like..

but if we have a chance of landing him we need to go after him harder..
Phillip Fulmer is constantly calling and talking to him...

but it would be a big bonus if we got him

I remember watching his uncle play. One of our most solid CB we ever had.

I knew Norman. He's a great guy. Hopefully he'll help us with J.T.

I've heard this kid is very overrated and thats why we probably aren't after him as hard.

I know I am a bit biased when looking at Mann recruits but I honestly didn't see very much out of him. I'm sure he is loaded with talent, and maybe it was an off game, but nothing really stood out in my mind during the Greenville Mann game, granted that is the only time i have seen him play this season.

That time at 185 lbs is basically me and I assure you I'm not D-1 DB talent. However, I like the idea of us having some legacy types around, like Hillary, etc. I think its good for the program. It UcheaT and Meechigan are looking at him, there must be something there.
