There is no doubt that last night's game got the attention of a lot of prospective USC football players. The affect of last nights game may not be apparent for 3-5 years. Those younger players who are freshmen in high school or even junior high players got to see how great we looked, a packed stadium, Rick F and all the NFL players on the side line, and all the excitement and then start thinking about being a gamecock.
I am also sure that some of the players that have already verbally committed to another school and have thought about visiting USC are thinking that much harder after last nights game.
Go Cocks!

I agree, but, I watched the game, and I don't remember anyone mentioning Rick Flair. They didn't show the intro video for the home viewers either. They only showed the last 2 seconds of 2001 when we ran out.

but at least they referred to 2001 as the Gamecocks' "Grand Entrance". And ESPN has showed 2001 a number of times in its entirety. But I do agree with the original post, this game will pay dividends in the recruiting battles. We looked like a great place to play big time college football last night, and the country was watching.

I know. It just irritates me because watching the 5 minutes before the game from the "GAME! COCKS!" to the video to the 2001 entrance wouldn't hurt ESPN (and it would help with recruiting and publicity). They came on at 7:30 and talked in the booth, Then they cut back to the studio for 6-9 minutes and finally cut back to the end of 2001. They easily could have shown it.

This is also why we need to go up to Chapel Hill and beat the Tar out of the Heels, a fact that has surely not escaped the HBC. Look for a blowout win next week!!!:football:

exactly
why do you think SOS is using Corso comments as publicity?
why do you think we want to "brand" usc and Williams brice?
why do you think he wants the fans to be loud and in all garnet?
why do you think he wants Flair on the sidelines and hootie and espn at our spring game?
its because SOS is a marketing genius. hes changing the way the world thisnks about usc football. he associating us with his winning attitude and its going to pay immeasuable dividends

We looked like a great place to play football....but other schools, like LSU, UF, UGA, Bama, etc has those types of nights, every night.

I didn't notice any mention of the pro players, flair or the nascar guys. I was disappointed, maybe a little backlash for making the guys on gameday mad?
This too, will pass.

Not true at all. I have been to every venue you mentioned and just like us they have their moments but are not always jacked, sold out, or loud from start to finish. We are no different than anyone else in the SEC, their Fans leave early too so I have yet to understand why our Fans want to continue to believe we are second rate and post that way.
