I've used it in the past. I think it's a great Outlook alternative with the the capability of installing extensions.
I just don't like using an application of that type... I have like 10 e-mail accounts all forwarded to my main Gmail one. I enjoy the Gmail interface and functionality, so that's what I'm sticking to now.
If you like Outlook, you'll like Thunderbird... possibly even more.

I used to use Thunderbird. It's a great program, better than Outlook.

Why don't you take it a step further and get all of the one forwarded to gmail to be managed by Thunderbird? Logging into gmail seems to be like excess hassle and doesn't provide as much functionality as a 3rd party e-mail program. Plus, you always have duplicates and offline access.
I have been using T-bird for a long time now and love it. Much better than Outlook. Only reason I use Outlook at all is to sync my Palm Treo.

I use Firefox on my home computers and I have it installed on my USB drive (I use it on every computer I use... ie like a computer lab).
On all those platforms, I have it set to where Firefox automatically remembers my passwords/logs me in. So everywhere I go, if I hit the Gmail bookmark on my Firefox GUI, I'm immediately logged into my account.
