I put this in iCocky since this 'show' is a brilliant hidef broadcast of different sunrises around the globe.

Its on the HDT (hi def theater) channel on comcast ... usually show the sun come up over the ocean in southern chile, or the morning fog lift over a mountain stream in turkey ... right now im watching wild horses graze in a montana prairie with geese and birds filling in the ambient background ... very cool stuff.

And im new to HD, so its prob extra-amazing (is that a word??) to me, but i love that kind of stuff.

I wish i could travel more, and, IMO, this is a cool way to start the day and scout out spots for a vaction or travel destination.

Anyone watch this channel in the am?

i've tried to watch it, but it's incredibly boring IMO...

it's neat that it's in HD, but that's about it.....and there are plenty of better shows to watch that are in HD.

i dont sit there and 'watch it' per se, but when im getting ready in the am i think its cool to check out what country/region they are shooting ... i have it on in the background

there are some great shots on there. they did a sunrise show on some south american islands near the southern tip ... very cool stuff. that region looks so foreign. and the HD is amazing

but, then again, i would like to get into photography some ... just bought a cannon xti, so maybe its just me.

I hope for your sake they re-air the "Planet Earth" series on Discovery Theater (the channel you're talking about)

They aired back in March and were absolutely gorgeous! You can get them on Blu-Ray and HD-DVD if you have either player. I highly suggest it.

Depends on what you wanna spend. HD-DVD players are currently cheaper than Blu-Ray. So if you want JUST high definition DVD, then you may go with that. However, if you're into Playstation games, the PS3 has a Blu-Ray player AND it plays PS3 games...

All depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. At this point, there is no clear winner in the "format war," so either way is a good choice, IMO.

Yep, just caught up with technology about 3 weeks ago and always turn on the TV in the AM when getting ready & getting the kids ready. My son-6 & daughter-8 LOVE it! We don't get to sit there & watch it long(would prolly get boring) but it is nice to see the world waking up! I'm a hunter & fisherman and love that time of the day when hunting. Not too fond of it on work days, but glad to be around!
