regular price is $2,799....on sale for $1,999.....you can also add a 10% coupon at the time of purchase and actually get the set for $1,799. Model # TH-50PZ77U. That is about as good of a deal as I have seen thus far on a 50" 1080p name brand TV.

I have been in the market for a plaz tv and so I checked this out. I don't see the PZ77 for this price but the PX77 is at 1999 minus another 10%. I'll have to go down there and find our whats up.
Go Cocks!

First off, you're talking Panasonic vs. Sanyo. Panasonic's plasma sets are constantly ranked high in Consumer Reports, etc.
Also the one at Wal-Mart is not a "true" HD. It's 740p.

You are correct sir. However, it was $1,999 when I posted earlier today, less the 10%, making it $1,799. Now, it's $2,199, plus 10%, making it $1,999. Maybe it was a mistake on their part, or it was a 24 hr sale. Either way, that is still a great price for a Panasonic 50" 1080p plasma.

I have a 50" inch 720p panasonic plasma...I paid 1999 from crutchfield.com...I can voutch that this TV I have is awesome so I can only imagine the 1080p. If you are looking, buy that deal, it is awesome. If you don't want to spend that much...I will sell you mine for a grand and make up the rest out of my pocket

That's it. I don't care if it's Sanyo... $999 would be a steal.
I assumed it was 1080p since it was posted to compare the OP's TV.

I have a 50" 1080 Panasonic Plasma and I will vouch for it wholeheartedly. It is absolutely the best TV I have ever had. The features, inputs, and picture are amazing, no doubt. It even beats the Pioneer Elite in a side-by-side comparison yet its 4g's cheaper. You can not go wrong with it thats for sure.

it came down to the samsung plas vs panasonic plas for me
i went with samsung sinc eit was 'brighter' IMO, but the panasonic looks inredeible
go to BB and sit in their demo home theater ... they have the panny set up in ATL. Pireates of the Carr looks almost 3D
also, bransmart has a ton of deals and you can beat them down on $

Don't forget Amazon.com. They have sales that sometimes last only a few hours but have great deals. You have to check often throughout the day though.
