Already been done by Apple years ago and for $1800 I could build something way faster.

yep...the iMac... probably one of the better computers on the market. Starting at around 1300 i think. and the screen on the iMac is absolutely enormous...

eh, I don't need an all-in-one machine. For desktops, all I care about is power. You need a tower for the crap I would want. Besides, I would want to be able to upgrade my monitor from time to time. CPU lifespans are short, but the screens are worse.
