Anyone know anything about them? How good are they? What do they like to do on offense/defense? Any star players?

Only thing I know about them is that they come off of Rock Hill, which used to be a good football program. I had no idea who they were until they beat my alma mater Irmo. I guess they took the better athletes from Rock Hill.

South Pointe def took all the talent. I went to Rock Hill High and we went undefeated my senior year for the State Championship. The summer before South Pointe opened up, both coaches of RHHS and Northwestern quit, cause they knew the talent pool was about to get way too deluded. What used to be two of the best high school teams in the country (the other year they were ranked #15 and #17) is somehow scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Northwestern is the best team from Rock Hill... They go to state every 4 years minimum and can name 10 graduates who have played for the gamecocks. You may know some of them like: Jonathan joseph, Marco Hutchinson, Benji Young and Maynard Caldwell to name a few. They havent lost a game in SC yet this year, the first year back for Coach Wallace. They did lose a 6 ot thriller the 1st week of the season though to the state champs from last year in NC. They also beat South Pointe and Rock Hill high easily by double digits this year. Will King has 43 td's on the year and over 3000 yards passing and is one of the state's best kept secrets.

sorry guys i just saw this but i thought i should still fill yall in. well i go to south pointe and this was only our second year of varsity football! and our first year with seniors. our quarterback Stephon Gilmore is a beast! he can run and this year he really developed his passing game, very similar to Newton. Stephon is even better at basketball than football. we have a great running back in Devin Werry (Werry on the Carry)! and with passing becoming a bigger part of the game plan, wide receiver Charles Holmes has gotten is much better. All three of them are only juniors. The defense is amazing the line backers are great! they are all juniors too! my opinion is south pointe is the better team in rock hill... lets just said it was the refs and northwestern verses south pointe!! and yeah south pointe really did take all the talent from rock hill high sorry!!

South Pointe is an amazing program because they did lose 2 or 3 games this year but it's a new school and they did not have a senior class thie year. They should be awesome next year.

you can say that again!....it's gonna take several years for my Cats to get good again if it even happens. we might be good at soccer and tennis, and possibly baseball if we can ever get a good coach, but that'll be about it.

Northwestern is a good school, or atleast were (both rock hill high and northwestern have dropped since south pointe opened) but Rock Hill High was the dominant one the last while before the 3rd school opened up. I'm a 2003 grad from RHHS and we went undefeated and won the state championship that year. We did it again two years later atleast(thats when I quit paying attention due to the joy of college football). Just in 2003, we had Ko Simpson and Johnathan Hefny(U. of Tenn.) in our secondary. We only lost once(my freshmen year) to Northwestern, so I believe RHHS was the better team.

i went to northwestern my freshman year and now i am at south pointe, but northwestern and rock hill were both really good at football in 2005. they only lost to each other...northwestern lost when it counted the most in the playoffs so they went to the championship instead of northwestern. but really neither one of the three schools are dominant. south pointe is going to be as good as they were. if they can replace their ol-line...almost all of the offense lines were seniors. and stephon got one year better and the defense will pretty much be all back! but watch out for the lady stallion basketball team 8-0!!! the guys are good too!

Only because Coach Wallace had stepped down for a few years. Who has more state titles and better head to head record? My senior year we beat Rock Hill High EASILY TWICE, once in regular season and once in upper state title game and that was there only 2 losses of the year. As for players we only had 2 players from that team start in the NFL and be on the All Rookie team. Ben Watson is still starting to this day for the patriots and Derek ROss was All everything at Ohio State and on All rookie team in the NFL. Two other players on that team started at Linebacker for USC and one played Baseball, Marco Hutchinson and Demetric Smith. J Joseph came later also and he is starting for the bengals. Not to mention about 10 more guys or so I can name that either went to D1 programs or NFL within the last 15 years from Northwestern.

oh really?...RHHS still leads the overall series...and our Coach Ringer stepped down the same year Wallace did...and has 2 state titles...the same as Wallace at NW. Their head to head record is pretty much dead even against each other and we (RH) beat y'all twice in a year as well.
Marco, and Meat turned out to be bust...as well as Dee Feaster at FSU, although i think he got shafted on playing time.
The only great NW grads so far have been Watson, Joseph (if he stays out of trouble), and Jeff Burris.
RH has/had Gerald Dixon, Chris Hope, and Ko...with the possibility of J. Hefney at UT (but i doubt it)...so again, were pretty even.
i'm sure i'm missing some players from the 70's/80's, but you get the jist of it.
either way, it won't be long and South Pointe will pass both of us.
