Anybody know anything about Ridgeview? Are they any good or did they get to this point because of an easy draw? Looks like my Blue Eagles are the favorite...any Ridgeview fans wanna give me a reason why they should be favored??

Nothing? Not even an opinion from some of you NW and RH people that have been posting all day in the Byrnes/NW thread?? Come on now, I gotta talk to somebody about this game...

don't automatically write off clover as the winner here.
yeah, ridge view struggled early in the year. but they've turned it on when it really counts- in the playoffs.
the past two weeks the offense has been amazing. the RB Kennedy has gone over 450 yards in the last two playoffs games, and the fullback Tucket had 3 tds on five carries last week. the receiving core is improving, as Greg Adams is the clear target. He's got 13 or 14 td catches on the year. the offensive line is really giving cheston a lot more time, who has started every game at QB for RV the last two seasons. He's 18-8 as a starter. He led RV to a 10-3 record last year and they stand at 8-5 this year.
the defense has struggled, no doubt about it. they took some horrible cuts last week allowed the Hartsville RB's to take it to the house on a couple of their carries. the defense is definitely a bend-don't-break d, as they give up a ton of yards but have 36 (that's right, 36) takaways this season. 24 interceptions and 12 fumble recoveries. they're led by DT Bruce Bagley.
RV is looking to get back to the state championship game for the first time since 1998 when the lost to marlboro.

My bad, I thought about looking it up but was too lazy.
Should be a good game, but I have to be honest when I say that Clover is gelling at the right time. Clover is sitting at 11-2 with their only two losses to two of the 4 teams still playing in the Big 16 playoffs, Northwestern and Byrnes. The problem with Clover is it's not like opposing teams don't know what they're going to do...they're going to run. The problem is stopping it, and thus far no one has been able to do that. Even NW and Byrnes didn't shut down Clover's offense, they just put Clover in a hole that they weren't able to climb out of.
IMO, RV's only chance is to get an early lead because the Clover offense is not built for coming from behind. However, if Clover comes out and scores early, possibly on their first drive, it could be a long night for the Blazers.

I graduated from Ridge View last year, they were real good then but tonight they didn't look too hot. Both teams struggled in the first half but RV gave it away in the second. Couldn't stop the run at all...sound familiar?

Don't feel bad, no one has stopped Clover's run this year. You guys did a lot better than some against the Jet Turner Wing-T...it's tough to stop, no matter who you are.
