also have to remember that it's getting close to finals time for students... it's not going to be terribly packed out for that reason alone. i'm one of those that would normally be at the game, but papers and other work are keeping me out of the colonial center this week.

I didn't get a chance to listen to the game, but judging solely on stats this was a good rebound game and we needed it because I think we lose the next two games against Clemson and Providence

i agree. we shot fifty seven percent from three point range tonight, and fifty four percent from the floor. we shot like thirty seven percent in the old spice tourney. we will beat clemson and providence, though. have some faith in our boys. the supporting cast is starting to come around.

Clemson is without James Mays and Providence isnt that good..We can win both of those games.

it was a good game. No glaring negatives. I like that we're regularly getting 3 or more players in double digits. If we can keep that up for the remainder of the season, we could wind up doing alright.

We could've won against an NC state team that is good but lost by a bunch to Michigan State tonight and we could've beat George Mason if we hadn't made some key mistakes. Just because there are certain things that can help doesn't mean we'll take advantage of it. Clemson is full court press the entire game and push the ball offensively. When we have had teams push the ball offensively like Southern Cal did, we left them with wide open drives to the lane and easy baskets. Providence is not a great team, but they will be at home and they have proven already against 1 SEC team that they can rise to the competition.

The jury is still out on NC State. While they have been consistantly good in the past, getting stomped by MSU isn't a great sign. I think they end up being a bubble team for the NCAA and get in depending on their swing games.

GM, well, they went to the Final Four. That speaks for itself.

Honestly, I'll get excited about basketball if we can get football payback and beat Clemson is basketball. It is VERY important to beat them this season as they have had our number the past couple of years (sound familiar?) and are looking to make the NCAA. If we beat them, it will hold much more value than the our previous victories over them since we'll be dealing a blow to their NCAA chances and this will also be the confidence builder this young team needs.

Oh, and FWIW, Mays is out for the game. That is obviously a VERY good advantage for us.

Definitely not much in the way of choice....Especially when your 9,000 Miles from home, and the only way to get to a game is a 4 hour drive, 24 hour plane ride, and another 3 to 6 hours waiting in the Detroit Airport for the plane to Charlotte or Columbia to leave....So no, not many options. Granted, I would do all of that especially if we were in the National Championship, Im just not rich enough, or have a private Lear jet, and what with me getting married, the last thing on my mind is procuring a useable Lear (jet) at that. LOL.

In my mind I'm still wanting to believe we can make a run to the tourney. Because the 3 teams we've too are all future tournament teams. I also feel that their arent really any standout completely dominant teams in the SEC other than maybe Tenn.
