looking at the depth chart next year and gauging our chances for "competing for the SECe", are we really addressing our needs in recruiting this year? I see a few LB's on the commit list but not many OL. I realize the guys we sign this year are a few years away from helping a lot, but IMO, the guys we currently have are going to have to improve dramatically if we want to be better. I won't name the offensive linemen, but on D obviously we are hoping Brinkley, Peppers and the Lindsey's all come back and play well. R. Paulk must step it up a notch along with Sapp, Ingram, Matthews and the other LB's (thoughts here?). I think we are OK with M. Hall, Ajiboye, Robinson, Geathers, etc all being more experienced also. Seems like we need a few more very good DT's with Reaves leaving.
Are there any Brinkley-type JuCo's we are looking at?
I'm still a newb, but it seems like we sign a LOT of DB/athlete types and miss out on most of he stud LB's, OL etc (hope I'm wrong).
Any of our experts want to weigh in, make me feel better?

Everything will work out..Recruiting is definately not as bad as a lot of fans are saying..Too many star gazers..
Some of these guys that we are picking up that are listed as safety/ATH are candidates to be moved to linebacker down the line..Someone like Darrell Simmons can easily gain 20lbs and move to outside linebacker.
We will sign a solid o-line class (between 3 & 4) and at least 3 more linebackers to go with what we have committed..This class will be evenly dispersed as far as positions and most importantly IT WILL FILL OUR NEEDS.

Coaching staff has been trying to lure the LB from Myrtle Beach. Can't remember his name. Believe he has said its VT for him.

Bruce Taylor would be a perfect replacement for Jasper in the middle after next year, but I think he is strong on the Hokies. He has great size(6'3" 230) as a senior in high school. We could really use the depth at lb, and move Matthews back to DE, where he can shine.

The Gamecocks are not very prominent on the AJC list of their top 100:
