There have been a number of thread about whether Sidney would have made a difference this season. What about Stanley Doughty? He fell out of favor with Nix and left with a year of eligibility left. You have to think he could have made a difference inside especially in running situations. I think he didn't fit in with Nix's smaller\faster DL philosophy and got in the outhouse. I think with the way Ellis moved up the chart late in the season, Nix has probably seen that he has got to have larger bodies in the middle.

I honestly think Doughty would have been a non-factor this year. He was too fat and lazy and never had the kind of athleticism that you need out of your big guys.

From what I always heard it was more of him falling out with Spurrier than with Nix. He was lazy and didn't work hard and didn't practice hard, so he didn't play. Some guys are like that, they turn in on during games but poke around and give half-ass effort in practice. There were guys like that on the team when I played.

Spurrier wasn't real fond of Doughty either.

Stanley Doughty wouldn't have been on the field next year because he didn't know how to go to class. He stopped going to the last 1/3 of his classes last fall. He didn't have the desire, and was a cancer...hence him being gone.

We don't need players like Doughty around.
Another player who I think would have been a senior is Ko Simpson. I am not saying E cook is much of a step down, but Ko would have helped a lot.

Ko, Sid, Doughty all made choices. We can sit and wonder what may have been if they were still here, but there not.
Doughty wouldn't have made the two deep on this D-line. Honestly it is the deepest and most talented position we have on our team right now, yes even better than WR and RBs.

fat and lazy, maybe
but he was a freaking plug in the middle
i dont know why he was allowed out of the doghouse last year vs CU, but im glad he was. he was a big force in the middle for us that game, regardless of his stamina
