So, what do you think the outcome of the next Clemson/USC football game will be? Hopefully USC won't have the problems with injuries this year. I think that once again Clemson will have the more talented team and that SS will again outcoach TB. I'm thinking another close one, that Clemson pisses out at the end.

A little too early to think about. Clemson seems to always have the upper hand in this game. Just don't have a feel for it.

You have to admit, Bowden can recruit. I think USC finally has the talent though to compete with Clemson. We had 6 freshman on the ALL SEC Freshman Team which speaks volumes. I agree, look for it to be another slobber nocker with the kickers settling it again.

I have enjoyed most of your post on here Hopefultiger. Welcome to the board! It's nice to have some Clemson fans on here with their head on straight.
As far as the game, its way too early. With all of our injuries this season I was glad to see us hang with ya'll as much as we did. Clemson should have beaten us by 3 touchdowns. We show promise. Hopefully we can keep going in the right direction.
Good Luck Against Auburn:thumbsup:

Depends... is James Davis leaving early?
Because nothing about Spiller scares me.

Which ever team gets out to the hot start at the beginning of the year will blow up around midseason and lose the game.

I agree that it will be very close.i think clemson might pull it out because we have most of our offense coming back and not very many people leaving. usc on the other hand has their starting qb leaviing. idk though because i think everyone knows that SP is a better caoch then TB.

i disagree man i think both teams played horrible but if there werent so many turnovers i think clemson still might have pulled it out but they wouldnt be beating them by three towchdowns

I didn't mean the actual game I meant talent wise. I was just glad we showed the heat and desire to win which we didn't show in the past 2 games before. If it wasn't for the blocked punts I think we would have won 21-16.

It's all going to boil down to injuries and depth. It's far too early to tell, but late season games always seem to revolve around that theme. You better believe both sides will come ready to play hard, and you also better believe that SOS and Paulk will not too soon forget that billboard.

Honestly, I am tired of all the "niceness" and cordial behavior. For God's sake, do we need to name the rivalry the NICE BOWL? I want this to be a nasty rivalry. I want it to be like Alabama vs Auburn, Texas vs Oklahoma, USC vs UCLA, Florida vs. Florida State etc.... When OBC was at Florida do you think he ever played golf with Bowden if he did not have to? HELL NO!
I honestly like the billboard in Columbia. It takes balls to do that. I would hope we would do that if when we win the next "Nice Bowl". Next year, Hyman needs to send a letter to Clemson apoligizing for running up the score not posting some damn billboard!

It is really too early to tell.. Shoot, after last year's game.. I really though we would bury yall's ass this year.. Then someone named Cullen Harper got to play QB.. and 1/2 of our defense got hurt..
Looking at it on paper... yall should be flat nasty next year.. as long as you take care of business.. you could be 9-2 or BETTER when we play yall.. As for Carolina.. we should be better.. maybe coming into Death Valley around 7-4 or so.. But we shall see..

Clemson loses 4 Seniors starters on the offensive line. You do have your skill players returning, but I think you will struggle to run the ball and protect the passer against the better teams on your schedule (kind of like us this season).

our talent is better if it matures!

Clemson has mind control over us. So unless we clearly have the better team playing better football at that time of year, they've got to be the favorite.
In short, "Clemson is our daddy."

amen, i cant stand spiller he cant face a tackle he always tries to make a big play and run around backards and in circles.
I have also noticed about him that he runs out of bounds instead trying to bust through some tackles for a few extra yards. He did it at least ten times against BC.

You are absolutely right and it really pisses me off!! If things are going well there's no need to take shots for nothing. I got no problem with him running out of bounds after getting the 1st down, but on 2 and 7 it chaps my hide to see him step out of bounds after 3 or 4 yards when he could have dived and left us with 3rd and 1. I'd take a Cory Boyd or Reggie Merriweather over him any day. Those guys play with passion! Spiller's more talented than either but you wouldn't know it to watch him play.

PLEASE don't speak of Reggie Merriweather.

I think there were a couple of plays against BC where yall were on the 20 and would hand the ball of to him. He would cut to the outside towards the sideline and instead of lowering his head for the first down or possibly the touchdown, he would just run out of bounds. He needs to take some notes from Cory Boyd. That boy knows how to lower his head and fight for yards. I hate we're losing him. He deserved such a better result for the team this season if anybody did.

why not?
BTW that's my absolute favorite TB call of all time. Clemson vs. USC last year. Pulling Merriweather during that final drive in the 4th quarter and replacing him with injured James Davis was BRILLIANT. It's not everyone who can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory like that!

Senior runningback...final home game...crowd chanting his name...5+ yards per carry...take him out...brilliant
At one point this year I thought we were going to have a similar question to ask...James Davis on the 1st drive gets 20+ yards on the zone read while playing qb- the same play that was our achilles heel all year...never called the play again.

I defy a poster on this board to deny the fact that if USC had played Clemson in September on the day we defeated Georgia, we would have clobbered Clemson. With that said, playing each other last game of the season, injuries always factor in. Clemson had their share last year and us this year. I wish for this reason alone we played earlier in the season. Next year will continue to be much like the 3 previous years, but I like our chances in Death Valley again. All that orange and playing Zombie Nation over and over just seems to bring out the best in Gamecocks. Here's hoping we all end up healthy for a change and smash-mouth it out on the field. Go Cocks!

Yep, I agree. I'd also think the year before we'd have clobber'd you guys. It's all the same.
