Not really. I am not looking forward to "next year" at all. Unless changes are made, the only difference is those 4 guys will be 3 Jrs and one Sr on another mediocre team.
Sorry....but it is what it is.

I guess we'll have to see on that one. For folks that cannot see the fact that this years Team is built around Freshman and Sophmores must be blind.

I feel bad about the loss of optimism here, I followed the Gators for years and they didn't develop as a consistant power until Pell recruited some great classes. Of course, the Gators almost got the Death Penalty for the methods but a base of great players kept others coming there.
I think Spurrier is doing the same thing here without the cheating, a good base of young players are there now which will help recruit the next group. I agree we have to win 8 to 10 games next year to keep the pipeline going.
Let's see what happens.

Four University of South Carolina players were named to the 2007 All-SEC team, as selected by the league's 12 coaches, it was announced today. Kenny McKinley, Eric Norwood and Captain Munnerlyn earned first team honors, while Emanuel Cook was a second team selection.
McKinley, a 6-0, 177-pounder from Mableton, Ga., set a school record with 77 receptions for a team-leading 968 yards and nine touchdowns. The junior wide receiver led the SEC in receptions (77) and receptions per game (6.42) and was second in receiving yards per game (80.7). He led the Gamecocks in receptions in 10 of the 12 games and in receiving yards in nine of the 12 contests, including four 100-yard receiving games. His best game of the season was a 14-catch, 151-yard performance against Tennessee.
Norwood, a sophomore defensive end, was a big play performer for the Gamecock defense. The six-foot, 258-pound sophomore from Acworth, Ga. was second on the squad with 69 tackles, including a school-record 19.5 tackles for loss, which ranked third in the SEC and tied for seventh in the nation. He also tied for second in the SEC with three fumble recoveries. He logged 6.0 sacks, which ranked ninth in the conference. He was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week and the FWAA/Bronko Nagurski and the Master Coaches National Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts against Kentucky when he tied an NCAA record by returning two fumbles for touchdowns in a 38-23 win over the 8th-ranked Wildcats.
Munnerlyn, a 5-9, 180-pounder was considered the best cover cornerback for the nation's fifth-ranked pass defense. The sophomore from Mobile, Ala. tied for the team lead with three interceptions and was credited with 47 tackles, including 40 solo stops while playing in 11 of the 12 games. He had his best game against Tennessee when he logged a team-best and career-high 11 tackles, including two tackles for loss, and intercepted a pass.
Cook, a 5-11, 211-pound strong safety was the Gamecocks' top tackler in 2007. The sophomore from Riviera Beach, Fla. led the team with 92 tackles, including 77 solo stops in 11 contests. He logged 8.0 tackles for loss including 4.0 quarterback sacks. He also tied for the team lead with three interceptions and helped the Gamecocks' pass defense rank fifth in the nation. He ranked sixth in the SEC by averaging 8.4 tackles per game, including a career-high 11 stops against both LSU and Vanderbilt.
The Gamecocks finished the 2007 season with a 6-6 record, 3-5 in the SEC.

Does anyone remember our players who were selected to the pre-season SEC team? I remember Ryan was selected and Jasper but i can't remember the others. Just curious.

In Athlon I think Jasper was second and Succop was first team. Do not remember anyone else that made it.

cory should be on the 2nd team at running back ahead of hester but then again arian foster had better stats than both of them. i would put cory on the 2nd team with felix jones. last year was kind of a down year for sec running backs top to bottom but this year nobody really had down years and the injuries didnt occur to the best players at the position.
kenny's 1st team selection was well deserved and a no brainer, somehow the idiots at rivals still couldnt figure it out. lsu and tennessee dont have the two best kickers in the conference, they just benefitted from racking up a lot of fg's and extra points because their offenses were good.
forcecast into preseason next year we should have kenny 1st team wr, jared cook 2nd team te, norwood first team de, jasper first team lb, captain first team cb, emmanuel cook first team s, and ryan succup should be first team k. but it will come down as always to qb and line play on both sides of the ball

This is a well deserved honors for these guys.
Good news is we did have some awesome players last year. Bad news is, we did not have enough of them.
The glass half full thing is not working for me right now.
