Commings Planning Second USC Visit

By Phil Kornblut
ATH Sanders Commings Jr. (6-2 195) of Augusta made an unofficial visit to USC in early June and said he probably will make another unofficial visit to Columbia this month. Commings said he hears regularly from his recruiter John Hunt thru mail and text messages. He has not made any other visits this summer because he's been tied up with baseball. He plans to go to Florida July 20th for their camp and he feels the Gators are close to offering. He said he probably will make an unofficial visit to Georgia as well. He does not have a favorite. He has offers from USC, Georgia, Maryland and Auburn. Commings said USC is recruiting him as a receiver and defensive back.

Commings Enjoys USC Visit

By Phil Kornblut
ATH Sanders Commings Jr. (6-2 195) of Augusta made his second unofficial visit to USC Saturday, and the visit apparently helped the Gamecocks in this recruiting battle. "It definitely moved South Carolina up because I got the chance to meet the baseball coach," said Commings who plans to play both sports in college. "I met all the football coaches including coach Spurrier. After the game I went into the locker room and talked with the players and coaches. Captain Munnerlyn stood out. I basically met all the players from Georgia. Coach Spurrier said he thinks I can do big things for them as a freshman. He likes me as a safety." Commings said he could make a decision within the next couple of weeks, but he plans to make more unofficial visits, and he might take official visits to USC, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida and Maryland. Georgia Tech and Florida have not yet offered. Commings broke the fibula in his left leg in his season opening game and missed the next two games. He will be out at least one more week before he can return to action

Commings To Wait, Visit Clemson

By Phil Kornblut
ATH Sanders Commings Jr. (6-2 195) of Augusta had planned to make a decision on his college Saturday. But he's decided to hold off on a decision for a while. "I talked to some college players from the area and they told me to make sure I look at everything real good," Commings said. So, he will take more unofficial visits for games and will schedule some official visits. He will be at Clemson Saturday for the Virginia Tech game. And he plans to set official visits with USC, Georgia and Florida for sure, while Clemson, Georgia Tech, Maryland and Wake Forest are possible for official visits.

I don't like the sound of this. Someone has gotten in his ear. And, where in the world did Clemson come from? Do they have anyone from Augusta on their team?

Commings Sets Two Official Visits

By Phil Kornblut
ATH Sanders Commings Jr. (6-2 195) of Augusta plans to attend either the USC or the Clemson game this Saturday. And he has scheduled official visits with both...the Gamecocks on November 23rd and the Tigers Janury 11th. Commings said USC and Georgia are still his favorites and he wants to make a decision soon. He talked with his USC recruiter John Hunt Wednesday. "He's going to be at my game Friday," Commings said. "He invited me to the game Saturday." Commings talked to his Clemson recruiter Ron West on Monday. His Georgia recruiter was at his practice Wednesday. Commings said he's using one criteria in formulating his decision. "It's basically where I fit in."

Jawja has a considerable amount of influence on Commings..I think he likes USC...But Jawja is the team he will have the most difficulty saying no to...For example, Sanders wanted to attend our UK game...Jawja conned him into stopping by to meet with their baseball coach...They purposely kept in Athens too late for him to make our Thursday night game

ATH Sanders Commings Jr. (6-2 195) said Thursday night he plans to make another unofficial visit to USC Saturday for the Vanderbilt game. Commings has made three other unofficial visits to USC since August. "I'm just going to talk to the coaches and make a little visit, nothing big," he said. "There's no chance I'll make a commitment." Commings has been favoring USC and Georgia. He's also been looking at Clemson, Auburn, Maryland and Florida.

Others scheduled to be at USC for the Vanderbilt game on unofficial visits are DL Randy Salmon (6-3 285) of Stockbridge, GA, RB Ingram Bell (6-0 187) of St. James, DL Taylor Loftley (6-2 255) of Chamblee, GA, OL Jonathan Cooper (6-3 305) of Wilmington, NC and OL David Spurlock (6-5 290) of Murfreesboro, TN. Loftley and Spurlock said earlier this week they could make commitments.

Gamecock commitment LB Shaq Wilson (6-1 210) of Jacksonville said earlier this month he was looking at making his official visit this weekend.

Not making a visit to USC Saturday will be RB Martin Ward (5-10 190) of Jonesboro, GA. He had planned to come in for the Vanderbilt game but won't be able to make it. Ward said he's still favoring the Gamecocks and plans to set official visits with USC, Louisville, North Carolina, Memphis and Clemson.

I can tell you that watching some of these GA kids play football, and want to play in SC is encouraging... Chamblee is still undefeated, beating there rivals Dunwoody bad last week... Stockbridge isnt having that great of year, but the competition level here is amazing. You are no QB Coach...You don't know...But thanks for your opinion...Aramis might eventually play another position...But it wont be wr...He will have 2-3 years to learn the QB position...I have seen him play many times...Anyone that says he can't be an SEC QB is full of it IMHO...Just because he plays in an option offense doesn't mean he can't excel in SOS system...If we needed a QB to start in a hurry, then he is not the guy..Brett Farve was a veer option QB in HS and at Southern Miss...You just don't know,,,Coaches can project skills that most cannot see..Aramis will get a legit shot to develop into a QB...Looking at Garcia and Hillary i think Spurrier is convinced a QB in the SEC must have good mobility these days

Sucks, because UGA played dirty to get him by doing everything they could to make sure he didn't come visit us (I.E., having their basketball coach talk with them and hold him up during a visit he was going to take). He said the reason he decided on uga was they are willing to allow him to play baseball and football. Carolina wouldn't.
