Am I seeing this right? Do we have 2 bye weeks at the end of the schedule?

After LSU and After Florida?

That is really good!

yep. We'll really need the 1st bye, not so much for resting up from the first half of the season, as much as for gearing up for the tough 2nd half yet to play.

Plus we'll also have another bye week to prepare again for Clemson. Although it didn't help us this year, it should still help us against our intra-state rivals: Florida always had those byes before their WLOCP game with UGA, and usually won. This season, Richt finally got a bye for his team, and look what happened.....

What games do you think will be the hardest?

I think LSU, Florida and Clemson

I really like the way this schedule lines up.

two off weeks would be awsome, that scedule looks promising, looks a little softer than this year, wish we go a bye B4 LSU and B4 flordia though. if we get good quaterback play I think we will do great next year

I agree with you Gear.

We had a really hard schedule this year. According to Saragin's strength of schedule we are #8.

I am optimistic, Spurrior said when he got here that he was not rebuilding because there was really never anything here.

He is building. And as mentioned in several other threads, we are very young.

Here is the link to Saragins report.

Its interesting to look at.

We played 7 top 30 teams. We were 2/5

Clemason for instance played 2. They were 0/2

Matter of fact. There were roughly 26 teams that played 5 or more top 30 teams. ONLY 4 had winning records against the top 30 games.

LOL, that is a great stat. Clemson 0-2 against top 30 teams, there have 1 more loss coming!

Go this off the USC website.

Four University of South Carolina players were named to the 2007 All-SEC team, as selected by the league's 12 coaches, it was announced today. Kenny McKinley (http://gamecocksonline.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/mckinley_kenny00.html), Eric Norwood (http://gamecocksonline.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/norwood_eric00.html) and Captain Munnerlyn (http://gamecocksonline.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/munnerlyn_captain00.html) earned first team honors, while Emanuel Cook (http://gamecocksonline.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/cook_emanuel00.html) was a second team selection.

We have a lot to be excited about.

Add in Brinkley and that is a great start to next year.

Hey Bgallup,

Wouldn't it be great if we could switch with clemson one year. They play our schedule and we play theirs.

We have a TWO bye weeks because NCSU was moved for TV. It's not so much that we have an extra bye as it is we have a season that's 14 weekends long. It's amazing how many byes are scheduled when the season starts right after the 4th of July. Also, don't forget that with the NCSU game early the summer practice schedule is rearranged.

The one good thing out of all this is NCSU is the one who travels.

Hmmm. Just thought of something. With a 12-game schedule and two byes, this will probably be the longest schedule in Carolina history. Even those seasons we played late games against Hawaii and Miami started after Labor Day and were either 11 or 12-game seasons.

The schedule looks more promising than last year. Two Thursday night games to start the season, which after Vandy gives us a few days more rest before playing Georgia. Also, probably a good time to have both Ol Miss and Arky on the schedule with new coaches at the helm. Bye weeks after LSU and Florida to heal will certainly help.

Georgia and Florida

LSU is losing a lot of great players (including Highsmith who scares me)
Clemson, well, i dont really fear them at all.

Man it looks like another fast start and possibly 7-0...once again its the meat at the end that worries me. Hopefully, we will have gelled by then and be ready.

I like the fact we get to START the college football season (same as '05 & '06 seasons) against NC State--at Billy Brice Stadium.

Then, another Thursday night showcase in Nashville to enact to some revenge. Should make for nice long weekend in the Music City--maybe catch a show at the Grand Ole' Oprey.

But, I really like the fact that Spurrier & Co. get 10 days to prepare for UGA---the game that really defines the 1st half of the season. Been since 2000-2001 since we beat the Dawgs 2 years in a row.

GO COCKS!!

The chances of us winning the SECE are very slim next year. I hope people set thier goals on a a bowl instead of an SECE title.
