PS3 Game Advice

i'm getting a PS3 tomorrow and was looking for some game suggestions. i don't play games that much any more so i'm kind of out of the loop and not sure what game i should grab. can anyone help?

True fan boys only talk about exclusives on game systems when reality is some of the best games tend to be games on multiple platforms. I know if it were me I would have Call of Duty 4 and Oblivion at the top of my lists if I were buying a PS3.

I would suggest Resistance: Fall of Man, Guitar Hero 3, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Assassin's Creed, Heavenly Sword, NCAA Football 08. Any of those games are well worth it (U:D's F & HS are not the longest games, but a whole lot of fun). I would second Call of Duty 4 and Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.

I own all three systems, and you're making a good choice. My 360 has turned into a dust collector since it broke the first time. Maybe I'll pick it back up for Mass Effect.

agree, especially COD4, the online play is superb, (and once you get it we can team up online..i need some more friends.lol) If you like RPG's oblivion is really good, i have that one also.

Resistance, CoD4, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank Future, Super Stardust HD (from the PS Store), Assassin's Creed, and Oblivion.


Don't spend too much as titles like MGS4, GT5:P, GTA IV, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, UTIII, etc. are just around the corner.

I may just have to get this COD4 myself and try it out. I've never been real big into those kind of games but it's apparently one of the best for PS3

If you're into music and have a good sense of rhythm, Guitar Hero III and Rock Band are a blast.

Other good games:
- Ratchet & Clank Future - platforming, lots of guns, and big explosions
- Uncharted - Think Indiana Jones + Tomb Raider + Prince of Persia
- Super Stardust HD - like Asteroids times a billion... on PCP
- Oblivion - a huge open-ended RPG that can easily eat up 80 hours of your time
- Ridge Racer 7 - Pure arcade-style drift racing

That's is really different. Everyone I know who owns the game (including me) beat it and immediately went to play through it again with the new weapons and stuff. It was way too good of a FPS to sell it off. That was a permanent game for my library.

well i'm not into all the aliens/green blood/laser weapons/zombie type shooter games. i like realistic shooters...COD, RB6, etc. i hate halo if that tells you anything.

I am the type who takes my time with games.

I tend to just play 2-3 hours a week on a game if not less so it takes me 2-3 weeks to beat games OR more....

COD4 is the exception
