a story parents tell to scare their children into behaving?

I wonder where he is these days.

In Zihuatanejo repairing boats with Andy Dufresne?

In Brazil babysitting Adolf Hitler's grandkids?

Somehow I don't think he will be honored at any games this season with the other celebrants of the 100 year anniversary.

Ha! That's funny. That guy was a mess, for sure. He certainly, um, enjoyed his college experience, let's say.

I have no clue what you are talking about. Please enlighten me.

Star, Jimmy Foster was a white Dennis Rodman who played for the Cocks. He was as tough as they came except when it came to showing up for court dates.

I remember him, he was a character, lol. He was definitely fun to watch on the court.

I've seen the guy in the media guide but had no idea that he was a wild one. Wasn't he from Greenville, white guy, played in the 80's? Would love to hear more.

I grew up with Jimmy. Lost touch with him a year or two after he went to Carolina. Yes, he was from Greenville. He attended a Christian School here until transferring to Wade Hampton High School. He was never a discipline problem until the transfer...although he struggled with grades. He didn't have great talent. Just big, Strong and a hard worker on the BB floor...his lack of maturity and discipline however were his worst enemy. Last I heard he was in Austraila and could not come back to the US for fear of being arrested....again. Sad Case.

Jimmy, if I recall, caused a booster's car to "disappear" right before heading to France to play pro basketball. There was a warrant out for his arrest for may years thereafter. To the best of my knowledge, he never returned to the US.

I used to run around with Jimmy in High School. He's real alright. He tried out with the Hawks in 11th Grade. Tree Rollins punched his lights out.

Good. In his last game (versus Southern Miss I think) he ended his career by starting a fight and punching the guy out.

He also took a swing at me once in a intramural softball game. I am not for one minute saying that did not frighten me then.

He did date Candy Anthony for a while, which was something. I once saw them at that old steak place in Five Points, I wondered if he was getting his meal for free (the place was owned by an alum and they got in trouble for that later)

Yes to all, I do not think he can come back to the USA without being arrested for that car charge.

On the court, he had no vertical leap but was a very canny ballplayer. Got a lot of rebounds and absolutely knew how to use the backboard to score inside, one of the best at that I have ever seen, almost Larry Bird-like in the way he overcame his can't jump disabilities. He got fouled a lot but was a horrible FT shooter -- tried underhand for a while, it did not help. He was MVP in most every TV game we had (didn't have many back then) and he and Brad Jergenson were our best players at a time (Bill Foster era) when we didn't have any.

I was a freshman at Wade Hampton the first time that I saw Jimmy play. He drove down court for an uncontested dunk. He dunked the hell out of it but his hand got caught in the rim and he broke his arm.

Larry Bird? The guy was MUCH more comparative to a different white guy who played for the Lakers, against Larry Bird....a little "no-talent guy" I like to call Kurt Rambis.

Jimmy dropped out of high school during his junior year. He hung out in pool halls for some time before Foster came calling. Jimmy then went and got his GED.
