South Carolina junior first baseman Justin Smoak was named to the 2008 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association preseason All-America team.
Smoak earned All-America honors from Baseball America last season after battting a .315 with 22 home runs and 72 RBIs.
The Gamecocks tee off the season on Feb. 22 at home against East Carolina.
