USC Leads For Florida Lineman

By Phil Kornblut
OL Steven Robinson (6-3 305) of Tallahassee, FL said Tuesday night he currently favors USC. Robinson made an unofficial visit to USC for the SC State game and that visit made a strong impression. "I loved it," he said. "I just liked the environment." Robinson has not scheduled any of his official visits but he said three will be to USC, South Florida and Central Florida. He also has offers from Clemson, Georgia, Florida State, Iowa State and Minnesota and is drawing interest from Auburn.

Love his size. Keep the big boys coming!

that would be huge to get the moose out of talley. This kid can really make a whole for the RB.

This would be a great pickup. I think we can also get Justin Green, out of florida. Those two along with Kenneth Page, and RJ Mattes would make a good o line class, which is what we need.

the moose and bj brand and page are the three most impressive guards ive seen so far in this class, they all three can clear great paths for the RB

anybody else think his offers versus the schools he is considering is a little sketchy?...

If your talking about his offers from FSU , clem, and UGly, all those schools are deep with young lineman. Early playing time is not happening.

I can't wait until we have only juniors and seniors playing on our lines.

No, UCF and USF are the second and third best programs in Florida now.

Well since UCF and USF are playing better ball than Miami and FSU, i think his choices are very logical...The players now have a home state option to potentially get early playing time and stay close to home....I knew George O'Leary would get it done at UCF...But the job Levitt has done at South Florida is very impressive....Recruiting the state of Florida is getting a little more complicated...I am thrilled we have Spurrier and the SEC to sell

my only problem with him is why hasnt FSU offered him, they need olinmen about as bad as anyone and they get kids from lincoln every year matter in fact i know they already have there TE, and trying to get there cornerback.
This kid is a hoss, but if he was really that good, bama, FSU, and others would of offered him.
It just makes me put up a red flag kinda like when clemson didnt offer Everett Dawkins.

FSU actually has a ton of young players on the OLine. Also, why didn't these schools offer Emmanuel Cook? I say who cares. Our staff has done a great job of identyfying players, that is hard to argue. I do know at one timeFSU was in the mix, what happened I don't know.

Why pay attention to who he doesn't have offers from? He has an offer from us and if you respect Bobby Bowden's opinion on a recruit over Steve Spurrier's, we need to have a talk...

He and Jonathan Cooper are center candidates for us.

no but i would put rick tricketts over john hunts, either way FSU offered now so this is a moo point. I like this kid and the way he plays, hope we can land some of these big hoss'

what the latest on Robinson?

Just last week, I heard Tony Morrell of GCC say on 107.5 The Game that he thinks we've got a good chance with Robinson.

I hope so--we need to bring in at least one more high quality OL.

No offense but FSU OLine was worse than ours. In other words I don't see where Trickett has done anything even though he has had higher rated talent. And by the way it is a far cry from a moot point just because FSU has offered. FSU is fixing to have to dance with the NCAA so they better hope they can keep their talent committed.

I've been saying that for quite a while. Of course, I don't have the namesake that Tony Morrell does. =] Steven Robinson and Jonathan Cooper are two OL I really hope we get in addition to Kenneth Page.

I saw that on Scout but I haven't seen any evidence it's true anywhere else. Hopefully we still have a shot.

he went to UCF. Im not sure why we're recruiting guys whos dream it is to play for UCF but if we dont start recruiting like clemson we're gonna fall in a hole.

We out recruited Clemson almost every year Holtz was hear and it got us nothing. I do not put all my eggs in stars and rankings.....Maybe our Coach is getting the kids he wants - its his head on the line not ours - so I think I would give him the benefit of the doubt.
