Yeah, the Traveler is a great choice. I usually go with the "Confederate Fried Steak" or "Catfish and Grits"

Yup, I vote for the Confederate Fried Steak. Yesterdays will always be special for me. Had the first interview with the company I still work for at Yesterdays in 1980. When my Dad was alive I we used to meet there for happy hour after we drove up from Florida for games.

The Confederate Fried Steak is excellent, but I think if we wanted to give Todd and ESPN a REAL taste of Columbia they would have been better off going to Rockaway's and having the Rockaway burger. For those not fortunate enough to have enjoyed the Rockaway burger, it's a burger with Rockaway's homemade pimento cheese. Yesterday's is good, but I think Rockaway's is better.

I am partial to that Lowcountry shrimp and grits at Yesterdays. Make that... completely addicted to it. Whenever I come to Cola. that is usually on my to-do list, right along with an STP at Groucho's.

Shrimp and Grits is where its at. The Rockaway Burger is nice but it had nothing on Five Points Diner. The day that place closed down was a horrible day for me. Those of you who have had it understand what I am talkin about.

I know I've been there plenty of times, just don't remember most of them. Per the Taste of the Town...remember what he had to eat? Wasn't it an open faced sandwich with gravy..then kept adding gravy to everything on top of that? I think that was the one.

Agreed...Groucho's is also a must-eat in Cola. STP with extra 45 sauce...yes sir.

I work at the grouchos in 5 PTS, and I was hoping they would come in during the day and shoot his spot. But it being a night game, and the fact we close at 4 PM, I figured they would choose somewhere else to eat. Got to love those STPs though!

Na I think he should have gone to a BBQ restaurant. Yesterdays and Rockaways (although very very good) serve food you can get just about anywhere in the South. I would say either Palmetto Pig or Hudsons would have been a better choice.

Confederate fried steak is awesome! Rockaways just hasn't been the same for me since the old one burned. I was hooked on Groucho's for several years until I tried the Kicken Chicken in Charleston which I feel is much better. Ahh Franks...blurry late night memories of freshman and sophomore year. Another great 5 Pts eatery is the Gourmet Shop-great chicken salad.

Is Maurice's still around...that would have been something...Todd going to a place that only flies the Confederate flag.

One cant get Rockaway Cheese Fries anyywhere
One cant get a Rockaway Jalopeno Burger anywhere
One Cant get a PizzaMan pizza anywhere (served from/owned next door)
Rockaways means SC Football, to me.
BTW, the older and slightly better Rockaway burned sevral years ago but they kept making the burgers at Pizza Man which is on the other corner along Rosewood. While The rock was being re built we loved to go in the much cozier Pizza man and watch early games when we played night games.
If in Greenville, a couple of tips.
Armadillo Burger at John Paul's on Congaree
Aany Pizza at CoalFired Pizza and Bistro at Pelham and Hwy14
Herb Crusted Chicken at Brick City on Pelham
Any place that features Kelly Jo's music. Smoke On the Water (Tues), High Cotton(thurs), Brick City (Wed) and Liberty Taproom tonight.
