Has anyone topped 7 feet since Mike Brittain?

Guess that depends on who's measuring, because I saw several places where Ryan Stack was listed from 6'10 - to 7' even.

Yeah, I thought about Stack but I remember him as 6'11". Must be an average of the two.

Wasn't Jeff Roulston a 7 footer?

Someone mentioned Mike Brittain. Does anyone know if they ever found out what happened to him? I know he passed away a few years ago.

I read where Stack grew into 7' while at Carolina. That was when I was there too, and remember him on a wide open layup...no traffic at all. He shot the ball, the ball didn't slip...he shot the ball completely over the backboard. That was against clumpson, I believe...same game he had about 7 slams too.

I did not know that are you sure?

My initial instincts were correct. I'm going to go with this instead of speculation about Stack:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/stackry01.html
Ryan Stack
Ryan Eugene Stack
Position: F
Height: 6'11" Weight: 215 lbs.
Born: July 24 (http://www.basketball-reference.com/bio/born_0724.html), 1975 in Nashville, TN (http://www.basketball-reference.com/bio/born_TN.html)
High School: Cheatham County in Chapmansboro, TN
College: University of South Carolina (http://www.basketball-reference.com/colleges/scarolina.html)
Drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2nd round (19th pick) of the 1998 NBA (http://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/NBA_1998.html) draft
I'm still looking for something more definitive on Roulston.

Now, I know: the question is why I would ask this?
I just find it interesting that a major college program in one of the premiere basketball conferences in the nation can't recruit and play a really big man in the middle.
This isn't an Odom commentary because obviously the situation has gone on for a very long time. And I don't expect Carolina to field a team every year of 7'2" centers and 6'11" forwards just scoring at will and grabbing 100% of the rebounds.
It just seems strange that in a quarter century of play the squad could not bring in at least one or two really big guys to have an impact.

Wasn't Jeff Roulston a 7 footer?Yes he is. Funny seeing him in a plane when he can't get an emergency aisle seat. Had to have a desk specially made for him too, we still have it - just no one tall enough to sit at it anymore!

Why all this worry about a big guy and the inside....our inside presence is just fine....just ask anyone on this board...they will tell you.

It's better to be quiet and let everyone assume you're an idiot rather than open your mouth and prove it.
While I don't intend in any way to say that you are an idiot, there is a lot of truth to that saying and can be appropriate to parts of the whole also. Unfortunately, your comment has nothing at all to do with this thread.

 My quote was full of sarcasm and directed at some on here who believe we don't need an inside presence.

His reference had nothing to do with the thread (much like the direction we seem to be going) and is becoming a constant tone in virtually every single thing he writes.
This has been YEARS AGO, but I remember the first time I had ever heard of anybody being 7 foot tall was Danny Traylor , he would be short compared to some bb players out there today !

You're kidding me right....you mean that constant tone of reality and objectivism. Look I have been saying we needed a big man for years.....I have got toasted over it on this board by one certain poster....that is why I made my comment. Everyone else could see it...I guess you chose not to. And if it didn't have nothing to do with the thread then please enlighten me as to the direction the thread was heading.:thumbsup:And pssss.....I am not the idiot...the thread deals with big men...not sure what you think it deals with. Check post 12 to see the shift. If you don't like what I say then ignore my posts...easy enough right

Eventually you'll come to expect one-dimensional posts from certain posters, to the point that their presence on the board becomes easily unnoticed.
