Bowling Green
Offense: The Falcons have relied on their offense all season. The Falcons averaged 32.1 points per game. The offense turned it up a notch in the final four games. Bowling Green scored 44, 39, 31 and 37 points to average 37.7 points in its four-game winning streak. QB Tyler Sheehan's accuracy, leadership and development sped up BGSU's expectations. Coach Gregg Brandon's gutsy play-calling and use of three-way threat Anthony Turner brought a new dimension to the unit.
Defense: Even without leading tackler John Haneline down the stretch, the Bowling Green defense made big strides. The Falcons allowed just 10 points to Toledo in the regular-season finale. The Rockets entered the BGSU game averaging 35.0 points, and they scored 70 points in a victory over Northern Illinois. The Falcons had a positive turnover margin and managed to get a key turnover at critical junctures of several games.

Tulsa
Offense: The Golden Hurricane has been one of the nation's most productive offensive teams all season. With a no-huddle, hurry-up attack, Tulsa enters the bowl season ranked first nationally in total offense, third in passing and 10th in scoring, with 542.54 yards, 39.46 points and 374.62 passing yards per game. At the same time, it's hard to look past the way Tulsa played in its most recent game (C-USA championship game) when senior QB Paul Smith was sacked a career-high six times and intercepted three times.
Defense: Tulsa made some progress down the stretch after struggling through most of the season, but that improvement fell apart in the conference title game when UCF controlled the line of scrimmage and TB Kevin Smith ran for 284 yards and four TDs. Part of the problem is the way the defense spends so much time on the field because of the quick-strike, fast-paced nature of the offense. Another problem is the lack of big plays for a defense with only 20 takeaways.

Bowling Green (8-4) vs. Tulsa (9-4)
Jan. 6, 8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN
Bowling Green will win if... it’s able to mix the run in with the bread-and-butter passing game. The best way to beat Tulsa is to pound the ball at its vulnerable front wall, keeping Smith and Co. on the sidelines. The Hurricane defense is 97th nationally at stopping the run, and when it’s allowed more than 200 yards on the ground this year, the team is 1-4. On the flip side, when the Falcons run for more than 150 yards, they’re 4-1. They need to get Turner in the flow early on handoffs and direct snaps, and dynamic freshman Willie Geter back from an ankle injury.
Tulsa will win if... Tarrion Adams runs well. The Hurricane is unbeaten when he rushes for more than 100 yards, giving the offense a level of balance and unpredictably that’s hard to stop. The Bowling Green defense, which allows 30 points a game and is 106th nationally against the run, is in no position to mount a stand against an offense that’s equally adept between the tackles as it is through the air. If Adams gives the Falcons a reason to press up to stop the run, Smith will carve them up for his fourth 400-yard game of the year.
What will happen: Both Tulsa and Bowling Green will follow the GMAC script, freely moving up and down the field, and scoring plenty of points. With a few more weapons on offense, the Hurricane will pull away in the second half, barely avoiding overtime in the waning minute.
Line: Tulsa -4 ... CFN Prediction:Tulsa 45 ... Bowling Green 37

I hope my Alma Mater can take this one.....they have the offense to play with just about anyone, just got to hope the defense can come through.

If this were any bowl other than the GMAC Bowl I would consider this game over. However this bowl game's trademark is high scoring crazy games so anything is possible.
