I hope that we get this guy. He would be the cherry on top of this already respectable class. Also he is big fast and athletic and that wins CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!

I don't think we'd take Terrelle Pryor. He's a highly rated QB, but I'm not sure how another Michael Vick would fit in Spurrier's system.

I don't think BigFinch is being a downer. I'd be very pleasantly surprised if we got Robert Quinn or Brandon Smith at this point.

I know we are worried about losing a recruit to MI at this game it also may happen to Clemson so I will post it under this thread so you will know about it and look to see if it happens as this kid is a big time recruit for them and a 4 star. It will be between them and GA.

Harmon Giving Mixed Signals, Again

By Phil Kornblut http://www.goupstate.com/article/20080102/PSPORTS02/506417397/-1/PSPORTS
Clemson commitment DL A.J. Harmon (6-5 325) of Louisville, GA is playing on the offensive line this week at the U.S. Army All American Game in San Antonio. In a video interview with Scout.com, Harmon said he would announce his final decision during Saturday's game between Clemson and Georgia. "It's nothing wrong with Clemson or Georgia, it's just where I feel the best at," Harmon said. "I want to play defense and I feel that one school is telling me something that I want to here and the other school is not. It just goes out to whoever I trust the most." The interviewer commented to Harmon that living in Georgia, he must feel a lot of pressure to go to Georgia. Harmon was asked what it's like to be committed somewhere else when "everybody in the state" wants you to go to Georgia. "If you are a rooster and the crowd that you are around is nothing but blue jays, then if you keep on hanging around the blue jays, being around the blue jays, everything you be doing will be just like a blue jay but you really is like a rooster," Harmon said. "Sooner or later you are going to start acting like a blue jay until once, somebody comes into your life and tells you you're a rooster."

I'm not sure this guy can deal with the increased academic demands that would be put on him at "Harvard on Hartwell"...sounds like he needs to be a Bulldawg.

If his decision is based on trusting what someone is telling him, then he better consider the source carefully. Snake oil Tammy's jaw doesn't even need to be moving to spew false hoods.

Don't get me wrong, you all had very insightful and well educated opinions on the Harmon situation. But if he is saying he wants to play defense, then that means Clemson. As far as I know UGA has not even mentioned that he could play defense.

In either case, it doesn't look like he's very bright. I thought Clemson only accepted Harvard-worthy athletes? (ie. Dwight Jones)

I was reading a free article at Rivals where Mike Farrell the recruiting analyst for Rivals is predicting Brandon Smith does pick Michigan at this game instead of SC and Harmon picks GA over Clemson. I would post the link, but I am no longer sure whether we can post free Rival article links or not?

Can someone post a list of our future & potential future Gamecocks who are playing in the AA games today. I thought it was kinda funny that the Army game and the UA game are actually going to be competing for ratings.

The ones I know of are:

Under Armour
Charles Whitlock (commit)
T.J. Lawrence (prospect)

U.S. Army
Brandon Smith (prospect)
Robert Quinn (prospect) - in attendance but not playing

SC Sandlapper

yep we were one year blunders. One good recruiting class backed by average again same old song same old story year in year out. We loose out on big talent every year last year Florida, this year Michigan. It seems to me after 35+ yrs of following each coach we get seems to hang their hat on One great recruiting season. Notice I used the word "great" not saying our class won't be average to good but when you are chasing the big guys year end year out in the SEC at some point we are going to have to recruit along side them consistantly.
We deserve what we are getting, we were 6-1 and still did not make it to a bowl. Blame injuries, blame players, blame coaches but this past year did not help our program in anyway shape or form. Spurrier himself said two yrs ago that we shouldn't except loosing well then I don't except loosing Mr Spurrier. We are loosing again on the recruiting trail how are we going to compete in a few yrs? Is there something I am missing? I have seen this way to many times same ole script. Only bright side to it is YES we are still out recruiting Vanderbilt and Kentucky. So what has changed since we entered the High Powered SEC? Even Holtz had a high recruited class followed by yes mediocre classes.
Florida getting richer, Georgia getting richer, Clemson getting (sad) richer. I will say I think in looking at overall picture we may have caught Tennessee not completely but closing on their overall talent.
In Closing I guess I am just tired of getting BEAT, Knocked down! another player down to us and someone else and we seem to end up on the ugly stick.
Oh well tommorrow will be a better day I guess.
going to basketball game maybe they will cheer me up...maybe?
