is to earn a NATIONAL SEED in the postseason.

Why? USC has NEVER won a super-regional on the road.
Just look at the record in recent years...
On the road at UNC (loss)
On the road at UGA (loss)
On the road at GT (regional loss)
04, 03, and 02- HOME SUPER REGIONALS due to national seed.

We need to be almost flawless in our non-conference season and have a better SEC record than what we've been having. No more 17-13, 16-14, or 15-15 SEC records. Also, it wouldn't hurt to win the SEC Tournament.

THAT is how we get back to Omaha.

well, exactly. that's how we win those games. and to be honest, that's something we haven't had a whole lot of the past two seasons. hopefully our guys can turn it around.

really and truly, this team has 2002 potential. that was a team that didn't have all that great of pitching, but they could outslug ANYONE and won a bunch of games 11-10, 11-8, 12-10 etc. etc.

Scoring more runs than the other dude will get us back to Omaha.

I think its gonna be we need someone to step up pitching-wise for starting weekend games and closing games out....that's what kept us from Omaha this past year and I don't see it being much different this year.

pitching...hands down...we got the offense and defense but pitching has to be great if we want a national seed

And uh, good pitching will help tremendously with scoring more runs than the other dude.

A combination of pitching and playing a little bit more small ball than we have in years past because I think small ball leads to more overall consistency even though its not as pretty as home runs.
