About the same as last year. No major changes.

the only thing is you'll have potentially two freshman in the outfield, and crisp moves to second base. the leadoff spot will probably be taken by a freshman.

I am anxious to see who the 3 starters will be. Cisco seems like the only definite. Cooper would be probable and maybe Jay Brown?

Alot of the pieces to the puzzle will be decided during Winter workouts, 2/1-21. Until then, it is anyone's guess concerning batting orders, weekend staters and position players.
One thing you can be sure of, there will be some major competition going on at The Sarge very soon. There was good competition among teammates with the end of '07 Fall ball; hopefully, time well spent in the weightroom during the dead period and some new, "can do" attitudes which show up on 2/1.
Go Gamecocks!!!

I was thinking Cisco saturday starter and Cooper sunday starter, so wasn't sure about friday. It should be an exciting year and it will all come together

Per USCsports.com and the release of the '08 roster, it looks as though Jay Brown will be watching this season from the dugout. He is listed as an '08 redshirt.
I had heard his first surgery had not gone well, and had heard rumors that he was sporting a new soft (heavy duty) cast on his pitching arm right before the Holiday break. I've seen on another website that he has had a second surgery on his pitching arm.
I also understand that Sam Dyson has been throwing some ground-level pitches to strengthen his arm (as Hempy did last year). If he can rehab successfully as Hempy, look for a kid that can throw in the mid-90s then come in with some off-speed pitches. He can do them both, and do them well.
His pitching speed has increased; was in the high 80's - low 90's in H.S. Tells me he has taken his P.T. seriously since the surgery.
Terrier, I hear good things about Parker Bangs and Tyler Musselwhite. I know that Will Casey is a good one. I've watched him pitch at Kennesaw H.S. since he was in the 10th grade.
If all goes well for Will in February practices (done the necessary P.T. for back spasms; keeps his off-speed stuff in the strike zone), the kid can be unhittable. As one of the local H.S. competitors (a pitcher) told me, "his stuff is sick!".
He is a solid LHP (we need as many of those as we can get), was chosen in the 38th round by the Atlanta Braves before coming to Columbia.
Go Gamecocks!!!

Please don't talk any more baseball. I have a very bad case of spring fever and it is only mid Jan.
