We know we aren't that good this year and our guys played their hearts out and we got out matched towards the end of the game. Rupp Arena is a hard place to play a game and especially right now when the UK team is coming together and starting to play towards their expectations.

Another thing that bothers me with this team is that we have AWFUL spacing on the offensive end..We are too clustered and it makes us easier to defend..With the quickness our guards have and our lack of interior play, you would think that we would go to a more spread the floor attack and make teams get out and guard us..That way our guards can use their speed to get into the lane and create..That is what Duke does so well and they dont have post guy on their team..But they do an amazing job of spreading the floor and shooting the 3....I guess its too much to ask for though...

Its the only thing we got..None of our "big guys" are very fundamental in the post..and when they do get position, the guards wont give them the ball..so as the game goes on, they tend to float out to the perimeter..As Spurrier would say, we are what we are.

Again, I really wonder why Dave doesnt spread the floor and take advantage of his team's quickness..He wants to run a flex offense (a la Wisconsin) but in order to do that you have to have guys that:

1. Rebound
2. Can pass from the high post
3. Set good screens

None of our big guys do that particularily well and it shows.

CC is right on, y'all. I'm not happy with the loss either, but Kentucky is just plain the better team today. This loss is what it is, but should not be discouraging.

When all you do is shoot jumpers you lose when you get on a cold streak and can't stop the other team from getting second chance shots and scoring. You have to run plays and get higher percentage shots and get to the line to shoot free throws. This offense is stupid.

This is exactly right. We do not have an offense. Just like against Florida. The only reason we were in the game is because of ridiculous three point shots being made. Those usually don't last the whole game, especially during crunch time. Then you need to be able to have a legit offensive scheme.

I never chastised you for wanting a big guy..I simply said that height (Mitchell Carter) for example is overrated..I agree that we need a big guy but he doesnt need to be 7 foot..a 6'9 250-260 bruiser that has a wide body (but agile) and can establish himself on the low block would be ideal right now. Glad we are on the same page though. :thumbsup:

So this may have already beed said but is it true that we shot 2-3 in free throws which means we only shot 3 free throws thats some B.S. that is terrible especially with the fact that they shot like 30 or something that game film needs to be looked over a couple of times.

Its not the refs at all....if we don't attack the basket...we will not get fouls called. Jump shooting teams do not shoot many free throws

Those were shooting fouls, others, inside, may have been the kind in rebounding or in trying to get position for rebounds, not the kind you shoot FT's on, unless you get in the bonus. As we have small "big men", that often means we get less fouls there, too.

I should think if this keeps up, this club may set a dubious record for the fewest fouls shots taken by a USC team in a season (at least in the modern era).

Just because you have a 3 point lead with 6 minutes left doesn't mean you should win in Rupp. Look, UK/UF were disappointing, Arky was encouraging, UNCA now that was discouraging.

If you get discouraged, rather than disappointed, every time we lose a road game that we favored to lose by a fairly wide margin, you're setting yourself up for a long, unhappy life as a fan. That's my point. Not that this was a moral victory.

I don't think you can say that "we are what we are" and then be way down that we got beat at Rupp. That's just not consistent.
