Does anyone know what format a file has to be to be read as a ring tone. I am specifically talking about a Sanyo Katana DLX.
I have created a short MP3 file with audacity and I have read that it needs to be saved as a video file with video disabled but I can't figure it out.

you should be fine with mp3. try sending it to your phone and see what happens. 9/10 it will convert the file you send to fit your phone anyway.

well, as long as the card is already formatted for the phone (all you have to do is put it in the phone once and it sets it up for you). just put it in the ringtones or sounds/music folder.

I can get it to play, just can't get it as a ring tone.

can you send picture messages to yourself from your email? if you can, try that, and then you can save them as ringtones from there.

I'm now able to get it sent as a text message through a website. I'm trying to get it where I don't have to use the phones internet capabilities.
