Balkman w/another Good Game

The knicks lose and it won't look pretty in the box score, but Balkman had considerable PT and had a great rebounding game. The announcers mentioned it the entire 4th quarter. Good to see him bounce back after the suspension.

balkman for the most part hasnt played as well as he did last season, whether its do to his surgery prior to the season, sporadic minutes, or the garbage team he's on. had a good november for the limited playing time he got, barely saw the floor in december averaging only 9 minutes and missing 6 games from december to jan 11th. since then he seems to be hitting his stride, minutes are only in the teens but more consistent minutes, 4 games over 20+ minutes. only 3 of the last 11 games he's had less than 10 minutes. shot 57.6 pct (19-33) from the field in january, but needs to develop that jumpshot and 3 point shot if he's ever going to take a step up from just energy, rebounding, and defense. shooting less than 50% from the line, has to improve that as well. but the great shooting percentage no matter where the shots come from, the increased minutes, and the double double tonight are very encouraging.

Balk needs to work on his offensive game to reach the next level of consistantly playing quality minutes.

He needs to work on his ball-handling and shooting. He is going to have to work on his left hand going to the bucket and being able to take the defender off the dribble and knock down a 17 footer.

He should hire someone in the off season to help him work on this. No summer fun if he really wants to make it.

The rest of his game is NBA ready. Defense and rebounding both solid.

Good luck Plastic Man! I would love to see you as a starter or the Sixth man on a playoff team in the future.
