However, that same day, at 7:30 that night, my favorite country singer is playing in Charleston (Trace Adkins)



Ahh....decisions, decisions...I'm heavily leaning towards Trace because this is a once in a lifetime thing...but one's free, the other is not, so and on so on.

If "stuff" does happen it would suck to miss that game. We not only have a good chance to win it, but we have a good chance to sweep the series.

Yet, that helps your Adkins argument. There will be other chances to see us beat Clemson.

I'd still go with the Gamecocks. But I do love Charleston, and though I'm not a fan of country, good concerts(regardless of music) can surprise you.

CCC, i faced a similar tough decision last year. the same day as the georgia game in athens, dave matthews and the allman bros had a concert in atlanta. i chose the game and we f'ing won! definitley worth going to athens and tearing apart downtown! i got the concert on dvd so it ended up great for me in the end. trust your gut

What's the problem?

Here's the way I see it: there is only ONE opening day for 2008 Carolina baseball and that's Friday, February 22nd.

HOWEVER

According to his website (http://traceadkins.com) Saturday, February 23rd Adkins will play in Asheville, North Carolina.

So, go to the game Friday.

Saturday drive up to Asheville, take in the show (which I guarantee will be somewhat identical to the Charleston performance) and then take Sunday to drive home to whereever you live.

Oh, and Sunday he's in Aiken. We'll be surrounded by Trace Adkins all weekend. See him twice.

Problem solved. Case Closed.

Sounds like Trace will be in the area more than once during opening season weekend.

However Cisco, Smoak, Disher, Darnell and Havens will probably be playing their final "curtain call" this year... In The Sarge. To catch all five of them in the season opener on Friday the 22nd would be special, and won't happen again.

Trace will be cuttin' records and performing live well after the Star Spangled Banner has been played at "The Sarge" to open the '08 season. You should feel fortunate that you have the options you have for both venues.

I know what I would pick if given the options you have... Yardcock baseball. Tough to beat.

With all due respect to MEGA and gacock, if it were Pink Floyd, I'd have to miss that game. If it was just the three, or any one of them solo, I would have to miss the game...but, other than that, go to the game. (And it isn't likely that PF or Dave or Roger will be here that day...(and highly unlikely that Nick or Richard will be) so your choice should be easy...)

And no one should ever be 'expected' to miss a game...any game...for the sake of someone else's wedding...(and certainly never for their own!).
