Baseball America honors Smoak

University of South Carolina first baseman Justin Smoak was named first-team preseason All-America on Friday by Baseball America newspaper, while teammate James Darnell was a third-team selection at third base. The Gamecocks open their season Feb. 22 at home against East Carolina.
