This has been quite a month for Zorn...hired as Redskins OC and then promoted to head coach. I think it's worth a shot. I didn't like any of the other candidates left. At least the www.firejimfassel.com (http://www.firejimfassel.com) web site can rest easy now.

WASHINGTON -- The Washington Redskins hired Jim Zorn as their coach Saturday night, a surprise ending to a month-long search for a replacement for Joe Gibbs.
Zorn's hiring was confirmed to ESPN.com's John Clayton on Saturday night by sources familiar with the situation.
Zorn will be introduced at a news conference at 3 p.m. Sunday, according to a person who was informed of the Redskins' decision. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because a formal announcement had not been made.
Zorn, a former Seattle quarterback, has been the Seahawks' quarterbacks coach for the last seven years. The Redskins hired him to be their offensive coordinator on Jan. 26 while continuing their search for a head coach.

Just because Zorn doesn't have a warchest of credibility doesn't mean that he can't succeed. Watch your Cow**** start to slip a little each year now that Parcells is gone.

Watch your Redskins battle Philadelphia for last place honors for at least the next three years.

I give this guy 2 years tops....and then little Daniel Synder can screw up another hire.

The last coach to coach under Holmgren and then be hired by a NFC-East teams has done pretty well (with the exception of this year)...Andy Reid of the Eagles

That is why he was hired....

He will bring in the West coast offense. Problem is, they don't have the personal to run that next year. Unless they give the guy 4 years he will not succeed. It will take awhile for this to work and get the people that can play in the system. The guy is 54, so he is not a young chicken. Probably not the best hire if they wanted to think outside the box.

Yeah they slipped from 9-7 to 13-3. Not a bad slip. Don't forget that Parcells was the guy that was afraid to play Romo. He did not play him until Bledsoe was completely torn down.

Personnel decisions and the people he brought in...Parcells will be missed there. Parcells is not that good of a coach without Bilichick on his staff.
