COLUMBIA -- University of South Carolina second baseman Lisa Longo went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored as the Gamecocks defeated Western Carolina 3-0 on Wednesday.

Pitcher Kate Pouliot, a former Hillcrest standout, struck out seven batters over five innings to earn the victory.

Freshman Krystle Robinson picked up her first career save also striking out seven.
South Carolina improved to 2-4 on the season, while the Catamounts dropped to 0-1.
